Position Title: Health Facilitator (HF) 1

Duty Station: Field based Position (for Cluster#2: Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality, Jugal Rural Municipality, Balephi Rural Municipality, Sunkoshi Rural Municipality Sindhupalchok District)

Duration: One year (with the possibility of extension based on performance)

Mahila Atma Nirbharta Kendra (MANK) is a women-led NGO established in 1992, actively working in Sindhupalchok to promote health and nutrition, education, women's and child protection, social justice, livelihood, human rights, anti-trafficking, safer migration, gender empowerment, and disaster risk reduction. With a strong rights-based approach, MANK is committed to promoting constructive social change.

In partnership with FAIRMED Foundation Nepal, MANK is implementing the Sindhupalchok Integrated Health Project (SIHP) covering all rural municipalities and municipalities of the district.

FAIRMED is a Swiss development organization working in health since 1959 (formerly "Leprosy Relief Emmaus Switzerland"). In Nepal, FAIRMED has been active since 2012 with a focus on Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), maternal and neonatal health, and strengthening public healthcare systems through service improvement and community engagement.

MANK invites applications from the qualified and motivated candidates for the position of Health Facilitator under the SIHP project. The position will be based in a cluster which over sees minumum four municipalities of Sindhupalchok district.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under the direct supervision of Program Manager and technical guidance of Technical Coordinator the incumbent will be responsible for:
  • Plan, implement, and supervise project activities in rural/municipal areas of the He/she will also be Coordinate with local and district-level government and non-government stakeholders working in health sectors and collaborate to avoid duplication of work and build synergies as possible
  • Organize and facilitate relevant training, orientations, and awareness activities on health issues
  • Coordinate and provide technical support to health facilities/HFOMCs and municipalities in planning, review, quality assurance including during MSS and onsite coaching to rural health workers or female community health volunteers
  • Participate and share the project progress and update at community /ward level platform
  • Organize and facilitate monthly cluster meetings to review progress and for further planning with social mobilizer
  • Provide technical support to Social Mobilizers and Local Resource Persons and ensure the quality of implemented community activities with regular follow-up
  • Supervise and provide necessary coaching and guidance to Social Mobilizers
  • Ensure proper utilization and management of project resources in accordance with organizational policies
  • Prepare regular field reports and document key processes and outcomes and develop the case stories based on project interventions.
  • Responsible for compiling progress and achievements, including report of social mobilizers, and ensuring timely reporting and documentation of project activities to the Technical Coordinator and Program Manager.
  • Support the Technical Coordinator/Program Manager in compiling quarterly and bi-annual reports

Eligibility Criteria

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in Public Health (BPH) having Health Assistant, Staff Nurse or other Health background with at least two years of relevant experience specifically in Health System Strengthening, and preferably in areas such as Maternal and Neonatal Health (MNH), Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), and Disability Inclusive Development (DID)

OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science having Health Assistant, Staff Nurse or other Health background with at least three years of relevant experience specifically in Health System Strengthening, and preferably in areas such as Maternal and Neonatal Health (MNH), Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), and Disability Inclusive Development (DID)

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong communication, documentation, coordination, and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken in Nepali and English
  • Good understanding of disability rights and inclusion
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure
  • Sound computer skills (MS Office Package, email, Nepali and English typing)
  • Working knowledge and skill for handling of HMIS/DHIS 2, PAMS software and HP MSS desirable
  • Working experience with local government Rural/Municipality
  • Valid two-wheeler driving license is mandatory
