VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Sunaulo Parivar Nepal (SPN), a local implementing partner of Marie Stopes International in Nepal, is a well-established NGO which is delivering Family Planning and Sexual Reproductive Health services through‐out Nepal via different service delivery channels: centres, outreach and Marie Stopes (MS) Ladies. It works in partnership with MSI Reproductive Choices UK, a global charity for providing reproductive health services across the world with a mission of ensuring individual’s fundamental right to have children by choice not chance.

We are looking for qualified and competent candidates for the following position:

Position: Finance Controller

Required Number: 1

Job Location: Kathmandu with frequent travel

Employment Type: Contractual, yearly contract with possibility of extension.

Job Description:

The Finance Controller reports to the Executive Director (ED) and is responsible to ensure that all financial risks and projected returns are considered and robustly evaluated when making strategic and financial decisions. S/he is a member of Senior Management Team (SMT) and supports in achieving sustainable growth through improved financial management to drive the organization’s performance.

The Finance Controller must ensure that donor financial policies are implemented while observing the needs of the country programme’s local statutory requirements and must build and maintain a motivated and productive finance team, developing proper monitoring and follow-up systems to ensure financial sustainability and providing advice and support to the programme on financial management.

Qualification and Experience Required:

• Qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA essential).
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (essential).
• Fluency in English (written and spoken, full business proficiency).
• At least 7 years of working experience in managing finances in I/NGO or relevant sectors
• Demonstrable experience in a leadership role for a large division or company.
• Experience in strategic planning and execution of plans to achieve objective and targets.
• Demonstrated success in formulating policy, and development and implementing strategies and procedures.
• Excellent knowledge of financial management systems and reporting.
• Hands-on experience with computerized Accounting Systems; Knowledge of Sun Systems is desirable.
• Knowledge of donor contract requirements for budgeting and reporting.
• Ability to establish and maintain contacts with senior-level government and donor officials.
• Experience of working with colleagues in geographically separate locations.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken, full business proficiency).
