TITLE OF POSITION: Field Coordinator-Child Sensitive Livelihood

GRADE/LEVEL: Coordinator

LOCATION OF THE POSITION: RWUA Working Area

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR/ REPORTING TO: Sr./Project Coordinator/Manager

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

The position holder will frequently have direct contact with children and/or young people in their day-to-day work. S/he will have to abide by the child safeguarding, protection from sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH) policy, including the RWUA code of conduct. S/he will have to maintain dual adult rules while visiting/meeting with children.

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Field Coordinator will operate under the guidance of the Sr./Project Coordinator/Manager to ensure the effective implementation of project activities, adhering to established standards and strategies. This role demands extensive field travel to project sites and collaboration with stakeholders to promote sustainable child poverty interventions. A key focus will be ensuring the sustainability of the Samunnati program’s learning, agriculture-related initiatives, and enterprise development efforts.

The position involves direct coordination with local governments, public agencies, and private organizations to integrate project objectives with the broader developmental landscape, ensuring long-term impact. The Field Coordinator is tasked with managing program planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring, technical support, and reporting under the sponsorship program's child poverty theme.

Additionally, the role includes responsibilities for training, mentoring, and capacity building of project staff, conducting field-level assessments, and documenting success stories and lessons learned to support continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Sr./Program Coordinator/Manager

Staff reporting to this post: Officer/Supervisor

Budget Responsibility: Sponsorship Program-Outcome-4

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Program Planning, Budgeting, and Monitoring

  • Develop annual budgets, implementation plans, and quarterly forecasts for the child poverty sub-theme.
  • Regularly track achievements against plans, expenditures, and procurement progress.
  • Identify deviations in project execution and provide justifications to ensure alignment with objectives.

Program Implementation

  • Implement livelihood interventions (on and off-farm), ensuring high-quality outcomes and adherence to annual and detailed implementation plans.
  • Facilitate market linkages for micro and small-scale enterprises and enhance leadership capacities of community groups.
  • Provide technical support for registration processes and financial linkages for entrepreneurs.
  • Monitor enterprise activities and recommend improvements for sustainability and growth.

Capacity Building and Supervision

  • Conducted needs assessments and designed training programs for marginalized groups.
  • Deliver technical training on business planning, financial management, and income generation.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and on-site support to field staff and beneficiaries.

Coordination and Networking

  • Establish strong relationships with stakeholders, local governments, and private sector partners.
  • Support farmer groups in accessing local planning resources and preparing proposals for funding.
  • Develop market linkages and integrate project efforts with other thematic areas for enhanced impact.

Data Management and Reporting

  • Manage data through OPMIS and ensure timely reporting.
  • Document case studies, lessons learned, and best practices for sharing with stakeholders and scaling up initiatives.

Representation

  • Represent the organization in educational forums, meetings, workshops, training, and seminars as directed.

Others

  • Perform dual roles in development and humanitarian work during emergencies.
  • Undertaking additional tasks as assigned by the Line manager under the sponsorship program portfolio.
  • Prepared the Samunnati Program report according to the donor-required basic
  • Prepared Quarterly/Semi-annual Report/Annual Report according to the Donor's and Organization requirements
  • Prepared AGM Report/organizational occasional program, Proposal Writing
  • Own a two-wheeler and a Valid driving License

QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Plant and Animal Science
  • Experience: At least three years of field experience in livelihood program implementation.
  • Expertise in business counseling for both on- and off-farm enterprises.
  • Familiarity with participatory community mobilization methods and child protection policies.
  • Experience in building collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in computing skills.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and report-writing abilities.
  • Basic proficiency in written and spoken English and Nepali
  • Enthusiasm for working with diverse, multidisciplinary teams and rural communities.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with relevant stakeholders.

Child Safeguarding

  • Ensure that all Program staff understand and respect the SC Child Safeguarding policy
  • Report protection concerns to the Program Coordinator/Manager in line with the SC Child Safeguarding policy
  • Ensure the Child Protection Policy and Code of Conduct are visible in all Save the Children activity locations
  • Ensure in each location of Save the Children work there is a reporting mechanism and Child protection focal person to report Protection concerns

Well-being

  • Ensure that all staff in the Program team feel comfortable in the job and team and inform the Sr. /Program Coordinator/Manager if the employees face particular challenges or have specific needs
  • He / She has to do any other job that the organization requires to make the program more effective and successful.

  • Other tasks as requested by the Line Manager.
  • Support Humanitarian responses where appropriate, ensuring timely and quality responses per SCI standards and principles.
  • Facilitate Safer programming, Gender Diversity, and Climate resilience programming for long-term impact.

Child Safeguarding

  • Ensure that all Program staff understand and respect Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding and Child Protection Policies.
  • Report on the protection concerns to the Sr. /Program Coordinator/Manager in line with the Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding Policy.
  • Ensure the Child Protection Policy and Code of Conduct is visible at all Save the Children’s activity locations.

Well-being

  • Ensure that all staff members in the program team feel comfortable in the job and team and inform the Project Coordinator if the employees face particular challenges or have specific needs.
