Field Coordinator

Water Center Twenty One पहल, a non-profit organization, with it's head office in Bharatpur, Chitwan district intends to hire a Field Coordinator for the project "Women Led Sanitary Pad/ Handicraft Business and Commercial Farming in Madi, Chitwan (खुशी)" for a period of 18 months starting from around the first week of December 2023. The position is based 100% in project site with some travels to Bharatpur.  Interested and potential candidates are requested to submit their bio-data and a cover letter (not exceeding 250 words in either Nepali or English) with two referees to info@water21st.com by 10th November 2023.

Water Center Twenty One पहल is working in 4 districts of Nepal in the fields of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH); Water and Life Development; Commercial and innovative farming services; Municipal strategic  planning and strengthening local governance.

Qualification:

1.     Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Development Studies, Agriculture, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.

2.     Proven experience in project coordination, community engagement, and agricultural activities, particularly related to women's empowerment initiatives.

3.     Familiarity with small-scale business development, agricultural practices, and menstrual health and hygiene.

4.     Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

5.     Knowledge of the local context and fluency in Nepali; and working knowledge of Tharu and English.

Job Description:

1.     Project Coordination and Implementation

a.     Oversee the day-to-day implementation of project activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.

b.     Coordinate with project partners, technical experts, and community stakeholders to facilitate smooth project operations.

2.     Community Engagement and Mobilization

a.     Lead efforts to engage and mobilize local communities, particularly marginalized populations, in project activities.

b.     Organize community meetings, workshops, and awareness campaigns to promote project objectives and ensure inclusivity.

3.     Capacity Building and Training

a.     Facilitate training programs for women beneficiaries, focusing on KHUSI Pad production, commercial farming, and related skills.

b.     Provide technical support and guidance to ensure beneficiaries' competency in their respective ventures.

4.     Monitoring, Reporting, and Documentation

a.     Establish a robust monitoring and reporting system to track project progress, identify challenges, and document success stories.

b.     Prepare regular reports on field activities, achievements, and lessons learned for timely submission.

5.     Advocacy and Gender Mainstreaming

a.     Advocate for the economic empowerment of women and marginalized communities, addressing gender and class disparities.

b.     Ensure that project interventions prioritize and benefit women in a meaningful and sustainable manner.



Reporting Structure: The Field Coordinator will report directly to the Project Manager and work closely with the project team, including the Business Development Officer, Social Mobilizer, and technical experts and पहल Board of Directors.
