Expression of Interest (EOI) to Prepare UNCRPD Shadow Report

1. Background

KOSHISH, established in 2008, is working to promote mental health and psychosocial well-being in Nepal and working for full inclusion and meaningful participation of persons with mental health conditions and psychosocial disabilities in the community. KOSHISH promotes self-advocacy in the spirit of “NOTHING ABOUT US WITHOUT US”. KOSHISH has been continuously advocating to bring mental health and psychosocial disabilities into the mainstream of health and disability by breaking the silence in the field of mental health and psychosocial disabilities.

Objective of the assignment:

• The major objective of the assignment is to prepare a shadow report on CRPD in parallel to the state report while focusing on the issue of persons with mental health conditions and psychosocial disabilities.

2. Scope of the work:

• Collect relevant data, and information on the implementation of UNCRPD from the perspective of persons with Mental health / psychosocial disability;
• Literature review of the relevant documents and reports related to persons with mental health conditions and psychosocial disabilities;
• Consult with relevant stakeholders and KOSHISH and prepare final report in reference to the state report submitted by the government of Nepal.

3. Required Qualification and skills

Potential candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills

• Master's degree in Law, social science and or any relevant discipline
• Proven experience of human rights monitoring, project evaluation, critical analysis, policy review, and experience of working with persons with disabilities. (preference will be given to the person with prior working experience of the issues of mental health conditions and psychosocial disabilities.)
• A background experience in disability-related issues and an understanding of government laws, policies and acts related to the person with mental health conditions and psychosocial disabilities
• A track record of conducting research and in-depth studies on various disabilityrelated issues, along with the ability to provide insightful analysis.
• Strong and appealing writing skills in both English and Nepali languages.
