Expression of Interest (EoI) for Statutory Audit – FY 2081/82

HOPE Foundation Nepal is a not-for-profit-making NGO, working since 2017 in the Siraha district. HOPE Foundation Nepal hereby invites sealed Financial and Technical Proposals from eligible and experienced audit firms to conduct the statutory audit for the fiscal year 2081/82.

1. Purpose and objective of the Audit:

The overall purpose is to recommend and provide management tools that promote organizational development and present financial truth through independent verification.

2. Audit Scope and Assignment:

Statutory Audit for F.Y 2081/82 in accordance with Nepal Standards on Auditing and Nepal Accounting Standards for NPOs. It includes a test of the adequacy of the internal control system and a test of compliance with Hope Foundation Nepal policies and procedures, Donor Compliance and reporting standards and Statutory and regulatory requirements. Moreover, the audit team can also conduct on-site financial review/verification of project implementation at Palikas, Health facility or community (one or two sites). Furthermore, also support on annual tax return filing of the audited fiscal year.

3. Deliverables

• Management letter and Independent audit report with accompanying financial statements for F.Y 2024/25. The language of the report should be English.
• Field visit audit report of on-site project’s financial review conducted at Health facility, Palika or community

4. Deliverables Timeline

• Draft Management Letter including field visit report: Due on August 25th, 2025 
• Final Management Letter & Independent audit report: Due on Septemer1st, 2025

5. Audit Fee and Payment

• Audit fee shall be the amount as per financial proposal, selected on a competitive basis or negotiated with the most appropriate firms with higher eligibility and experience.
• Travel, logistics arrangements in connection to field visit to be arranged by Hope Foundation Nepal. The financial proposal shall not contain quotes for such cost.

6. Eligibility

• Audit firm registered and renewed with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal.
• Audit firms with prior experience in the financial audit of international NGOs are preferred.

7. Documents to be submitted

The application shall contain the following documents:

• A letter containing methodology/statement of intent.
• Financial Proposal for rendering financial audit services (Refer Annexure 1) with audit firm profile/CVs
• Copy of audit firm registration certificate issued by the ICAN, its renewal and other legal documents.
