Background

The Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU) is a large-scale clinical and public health research unit, with sites offices in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in Vietnam, Jakarta in Indonesia and Kathmandu in Nepal.

Purpose of the job position
Enumerators will be responsible to support the delivery of activities associated with the CRP study.
Key responsibilities and tasks
  • Ensure compliance to study protocols, guidelines, and ethical standards.
  • Obtain informed consent and ensure ethical and confidential data handling.
  • Recruit and engage study participants at community, pharmacy, and primary health care centres. 
  • Conduct structured surveys, exit interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), and in-depth interviews (IDIs).
  • Support recruitment of community participants through outreach and social media engagement.
  • Carry out point-of-care (CRP test) test from patients visiting the pharmacy or health care centres.
  • Carry out data entry into computerized study databases, manage data and files, and verify data as required.
  • Maintain communication with study participants including providing study information to ensure understanding.
  • Maintain and safeguard the confidentiality of all collected data.
  • Assist in transcription, translation, and organisation of FGD/IDI data when required.
  • Maintain accurate study records, logs, and site files.
  • Regularly update and submit progress of the study to the project lead.
  • Provide logistical and documentation support during workshops and stakeholder meetings.
  • Coordinate with the public engagement team and support the team for engagement events in the community. 
Requirements

Experience:

  • At least 1-year experience in related field

Qualification:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Auxiliary Health Worker (AHW), Proficiency Certificate Level (PCL) nursing, Health Assistant (HA)

Other Requirements: 

  • Technical skills: Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods, data entry/management, and point-of-care testing.
  • Soft skills: Communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to engage with diverse communities. 
  • Organizational/operational skills: Time management, ability to work in field settings, and flexibility.
  • Familiarity with computer systems, particularly MS office, electronic data capture and systems.
  • Understanding of health records
  • Experience working in a research setting, with demonstrated knowledge of informed consent procedures, confidentiality, and research ethics.
  • Experience working in primary health care or community health settings.
  • Prior experience in point-of-care diagnostic testing or working in pharmacies/health centers.
  • Ability to work independently in field settings and travel within the community.
  • Strong communication and community engagement skills.
