Entrepreneurial Lead / Business Development Manager – Sparśa based in Bharatpur, Chitwan 

About Sparśa

Sparśa is a women-led social business based in Bharatpur, Chitwan producing biodegradable menstrual pads made from locally sourced banana fibre. It is a social business spin-off of NIDISI Nepal and together with our sister organisation NIDISI gGmbH in Germany we work at the intersection of menstrual health, circular economy, and social entrepreneurship. Our goal is to build a financially sustainable business model that combines social impact with environmentally responsible production.

As Sparśa enters an important phase of growth and professionalization, it experiences early market traction and growing demand so we are looking for a strong entrepreneurial personality to lead the strategic and business development side of the organization.

The Role

The Entrepreneurial Lead / Business Development Manager will oversee the strategic and business development of Sparśa. The day-to-day management of the factories is already handled by a dedicated Factory Manager. Therefore, this role focuses on business growth, financial sustainability, partnerships, sales, external representation, and long-term positioning of Sparśa as an independent and profitable social business.

The person will act as one of the main public faces of Sparśa and work closely with both the Nepal and Germany-based teams.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Strategy

  • Develop and implement a clear business growth strategy
  • Strengthen Sparśa’s long-term financial sustainability and business model
  • Identify new market opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams
  • Develop and communicate Sparśa’s unique value proposition and market positioning
  • Support the transition of Sparśa towards a more financially independent and scalable model

Sales & Partnerships

  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, distributors, NGOs, companies, and institutional partners
  • Acquire new orders and strategic collaborations
  • Lead external communication and relationship management with donors, supporters, and potential investors
  • Represent Sparśa at meetings, events, conferences, and networking opportunities

Financial & Entrepreneurial Management

  • Support budgeting, cashflow planning, and financial decision-making
  • Monitor production costs, pricing strategies, and business performance
  • Develop strategies to improve profitability and operational sustainability
  • Work closely with the technical and production teams on product development, troubleshooting, operational improvements, and strategic decision-making
  • Translate technical, operational, and production realities into financially and commercially viable business decisions
  • Support decision-making processes by balancing product quality, operational feasibility, customer needs, and financial sustainability

Coordination & Leadership

  • Coordinate closely with the Factory Manager and production team
  • Strengthen internal structures, workflows, and communication processes
  • Ensure alignment between production, sales, finance, and strategic development
  • Support team growth and foster a proactive entrepreneurial culture

Profile We Are Looking For

Required Experience

  • Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience in entrepreneurship, business development, startup environments, or leading and growing a business or social enterprise
  • Proven experience taking ownership of strategic and financial decision-making processes
  • Experience working in dynamic, fast-changing environments with high levels of responsibility

Professional Skills

  • Strong understanding of finance, business strategy, and market development
  • Experience in sales, partnership building, or client relationship management
  • Ability to think strategically while also being hands-on and implementation-oriented
  • Experience managing projects, teams, or multi-stakeholder partnerships is an advantage

Personal Qualities

  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset and high level of initiative
