One Heart Worldwide (OHW) is an International Non-Governmental Organization that has been working in the area of Maternal and Neonatal Health (MNH) since 2011. OHW works with local communities and local health service providers to develop a culturally appropriate Network of Safety around mothers and infants, by raising awareness, teaching good practices, and distributing essential equipment to ensure that mothers and infants survive delivery and the first months of life.

One Heart World- Wide is an International Non-governmental Organization that has been working in the area of maternal and child health for the past ten years. OHW has been in Nepal since 2010 supporting MOH to strengthen district health system to improve maternal and neonatal health services across entire districts where it worked. We are implementing OHW’s approach of Network of Safety for mothers and newborns in five districts and is in the process of scaling in the newer districts in the coming years.

Position Description

We are seeking a e-Health Program Manager to support the integration and scale up m-Health project in One Heart World-Wide’s program districtsin partnership with District (Public) Health Office. The program aims to support Government of Nepal (GoN) efforts to improve the maternal neonatal and child health (MNCH) data quality through FCHVs and health workers; reengineered and strengthened district health systems. The program intends to improve the maternal, newborn health outcomes through executing interventions in health systems.

OHW is seeking experienced and result-oriented Nepali professionalsfor the following positions:

Position:  e-Health program Manager based in KTM office with need to frequent field visit 

Repots to: Program Director/ Senior M&E Officer

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support implementation of the m-health project in OHW program districts
  1. Support system testing and installation
  2. Develop detailed implementation plan with OHWaparogram and M&E team, and District Coordinators including training plans
  3. Define training approaches, and develop training materials
  4. Supervise and deliver training and information sessions to district level health workers, FCHVs and other stakeholders.
  5. Run user testing sessions throughout the project's pilot phase to ensure user issues are addressed 
  6. Coordinate logistics and daily activities in all program locations
  • Build sound relationships with District (Public) Health Office, Health Facility  and other stakeholders in order to maintain program schedule and achieve program deliverables 
  • Provide technical support to M&E team, District Coordinators, DHO and program focal persons with special focus on capacity building on data management, data analysis, results oriented programming, monitoring, and evaluation methods and principles
  • Work with district coordinators of the m-health project at the district as well as VDC levels to ensure:
  1. Timely collection and transmission of reliable monitoring data
  2.  Joint analysis and common understanding of the implication of the monitoring data
  3. Development of appropriate actions to address these implications
  • Supervise trainers and/or any other support staff.
  • Conduct frequent field visits to facilitate the implementation process, data collection, and follow up with or without program/M&E team.
  • Prepare regular project status reports for internal documentation and dissemination as well as those required by the supporting agency/ies.
  • Plan and support program and M&E team for operational research and piloting of mhealth.
  • Provide support and participate to conduct the performance review plan annually 
  • Ensure appropriate usage of office equipment and supplies for e-health
  • Work together with program team to oversee financial projection; expenditure tracking and reporting of the m-health program 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master in Information Technology with minimum five years of experiences in development related field OR  Bachelors education in IT applications and health science with 5-7 years of experience in mhealth OR related field.
  • Experience in training groups of non-technical users on technical matters such as maternal and child health. 
  • Ability to explain how new technology will impact daily lives and how to best integrate it in the health management information system.
  • Possesses basic technical capabilities, confidence in Excel and other statistical package 
  • Excellent inter-personal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Exhibits enthusiasm, attitude, and work ethic aligned with organization
  • Shows adaptability to learn new technology and innovations in the maternal and neonatal health program activities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English and Nepali.
  • Ability to work well independently and with a team, and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work under high pressure, meet deadlines, monitor and follow-up on pending matters under minimum supervision
  • Ability to live and work in a rural setting
  • Ability to travel by foot to remote parts of Nepal
  • Must be a Nepali citizen
