Lutheran World Relief (LWR), which is part of Corus International, seeks to recruit the following position.

DRIVER – (JOB ID: 4171402)

Reporting to the Administration and Finance Officer, the Driver  will provide safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services for staff, visitors, and goods, supporting office operations and field activities. The role focuses on driving duties and basic vehicle care, and is based in the Nepal Country Office.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Operate program vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, safely driving staff, visitors, and goods to designated destinations.
  • Follow assigned schedules and routes, and comply with traffic laws, organizational policies, and safety regulations.
  • Ensure vehicles are well maintained, clean, fueled, and in good mechanical condition; conduct basic checks (tires, oil, water, brakes, lights) and report maintenance needs.
  • Maintain logbooks for mileage, fuel consumption, and trips.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of office supplies, equipment, or cargo.
  • Provide support during field missions or events as requested, and perform minor errands such as document or package delivery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements, Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum secondary education required; vocational training in driving/vehicle maintenance preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • At least one year of professional driving experience, including work with NGOs, UN agencies, or other international organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of local roads, traffic rules, and security considerations, with basic mechanical skills and the ability to perform minor repairs.
  • Good communication skills and a courteous, professional, punctual, and service-oriented manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, especially when transporting staff or sensitive materials.
  • Basic English skills; fluency in Nepali is desired.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy, good interpersonal and customer-service skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
