Lumanti Support Group for Shelter is a non-government organisation dedicated to the alleviation of urban poverty in Nepal through the improvement of shelter conditions. At Lumanti, shelter means the whole living environment, therefore, Lumanti's activities are wide-ranging. They include shelter upgrades, micro-finance, education and children's programmes, good governance, gender equity and advocacy. Lumanti means "memory" in the Newari language. The organization was established in 1993 in the memory of Ramesh Manandhar who died in a plane crash in 1992. Ramesh was a driving force behind moves in the early 1990's to raise awareness about urban poverty and shelter conditions.

Documentation Officer, Community Resilience Partnership Program (CRPP)
Funded by Huairou Commission
Lumanti Support Group for Shelter (LUMANTI) is implementing Community Resilience Partnership Program (CRPP) in Kalaiya Municipality of Bara District since February 2024 with the funding support of Huairou Commission (HC), Global Network of Grassroots Organization to build leadership of women groups/networks by orienting and capacitating, building leadership in climate risk information that impacting their daily lives and livelihoods. The aims of the project are to explore various level of local mechanisms for climate adaptation, looking at scaling up of local practices and climate risk solutions, building capacity of local stakeholders on climate change adaptation and exploring partnership with local government to collaborate in government’s regular plan programs.
Position: Documentation Officer
Report to: Program Manager (Disaster Risk Reduction- DRR)
Duty Station: Kathmandu with frequent visit to Wards of Kalaiya Sub Metropolitan City, Bara
Responsibilities
- Review of project documents and develop templates, format, questionnaire to ensure proper documentation of ongoing work under ongoing project.
- Prepare and systematically manage weekly, monthly, annual, and event-specific reports.
- Information collection and keeping record of funding partner's report format as requirement and submit as per demand
- Regular interaction, coordination and discussion on ongoing activities with the team members, women leaders, community groups and local authority as per required
- Frequent visit in community (Kalaiya) for information and data collection, record keeping, and reporting.
- Conduct Monthly interaction with different level of stakeholders and process document (women leaders, ward level groups, local authority, city level stakeholders)
- Proper documentation of all the processes including reports and progress.
- Ensure the reports, process documentation is properly managed and recorded.
- Knowledge update on climate change adaptation, women's leadership, community development, capacity building, action research and different level of partnership
- Represent Lumanti in municipality and province level meetings as required.
- Additional responsibilities can be added as per the requirement.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mass Communication, Humanities, or a related discipline.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Willingness and confidence to travel frequently and coordinate with communities and stakeholders.
- Technical know-how of the information management system.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, with the ability to organize, manage, and analyze collected information and data.
