ANSAB is a civil society organization that has been working for biodiversity conservation and livelihoods improvement across South Asia for three decades. It places community empowerment and economic incentives at the heart of its approach, and has been consistently evolving, consolidating, institutionalizing and advancing the approaches and strategies for the promotion of community-based enterprises and value chains, natural resources management and biodiversity conservation, enabling policy environment and multi-stakeholders.
ANSAB is currently seeking young, energetic and career-oriented candidates for the following position to be based in Kathmandu. The detail of the position with responsibilities, essential skills and qualifications are as follows:

Position Summary
The Communication Officer will support ANSAB’s communication and visibility efforts by implementing organizational communication strategies, producing communication products, managing digital platforms, maintaining communication databases, documenting knowledge and impacts, ensuring donor compliance, and integrating communication planning within project design.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Coordinate the implementation and periodic updating of the organizational communication strategy to ensure alignment with ANSAB’s vision, priorities, and external engagement needs.
- Develop and maintain core communication products, including the organizational capability statement, annual report, newsletter, and other visibility materials.
- Prepare engaging and impactful content for various purposes such as website updates, press releases, blog articles, project visibility materials, and internal/external communications, in consultation with relevant program teams.
- Manage ANSAB’s social media platforms and website content, including planning, scheduling, publishing, and optimizing content for audience engagement.
- Monitor and analyze digital performance (e.g., website analytics, social metrics), and prepare regular digital performance reports with insights and recommendations.
- Maintain and update databases, including donors, partners, media organizations, project portfolios, and Impact Tracking System (ITS).
- Document best practices, impact stories, case studies, and lessons from project interventions across regions.
- Develop and curate digital asset library (photos, videos, graphics, documents) for easy retrieval and use in communication products.
- Ensure all communication outputs and visibility materials comply with donor branding requirements and project visibility guidelines.
- Work with other program colleagues to ensure communications efforts are coordinated and to gather timely inputs/content for communication outputs.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Master’s degree, preferably in Communication, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Three years of professional experience in communications, preferably in the development sector.
- Experience in content creation for websites, newsletters, press releases, blogs, and promotional materials.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in digital media management and analytics; experience with social media tools and content scheduling platforms.
- Familiarity with database management systems and digital asset management.
- Experience with graphic design and multimedia tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is an advantage.
