1. Child Protection Officer-1

Job type: Residential in Children home. 

Working days: 5 days in a week 

Venue: Godavari-10, Chapagaun, Lalitpur.

Job Description

Job Summary: The child protection officer will be responsible for the protection of children of Home. The officer will work closely with children and ensure their safety and security, help them to exercise the child rights and make them aware of responsibilities. The officer will look day to day interventions to prevent and respond to child abuse, exploitation and neglect, The officer will coordinate with like minded organization to ensure the safety, well-being and rights of children in Nepal. The officer will look overall home and act as a in-charge and need to lead staffs and children smoothly to achieve the project goal.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and guide overall activities of Home Project.
  • Mobilize staffs and make a plan, look after all the business of home project.
  • Conduct assessment of child protection needs, risks and vulnerabilities in target communities, identifying priority areas for intervention.
  • Establish and strengthen child protection mechanism at Home and project including child protection committees, referral networks, and safe space for children.
  • Support the identification, documentation, and reporting of child protection cases, including cases of abuse, exploitation, violence, trafficking and child labor.
  • Provide psychosocial support and parental guidance to each children.
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of child protection activities, track the progress against objectives, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare reports, case studies, and advocacy materials to document program impact, lesson learned, and best practices of Project.
  • Make annual activities plan and budget plan. 
  • Monthly, quarterly, semi annual and annual report writing and submission within deadline. 

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Child Development, Child Rights, Child Psychology, Law or a related field. 
  • Previous experience working in Child protection, social welfare or related fields, with a focus on child rights, Child protection system, or child welfare services.
  • Knowledge of national and international child protection laws, policies and frameworks, including the convention on the Rights of the child (CRC)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with inter departments.
  • Experience in conducting assessments, case management, and psychosocial support intervention for children and families.
  • Ability to work effective in challenging and sensitive environments, with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and respect for confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Nepali languages.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc).
  • Commitment to promoting child rights, gender equality and social inclusion.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding child and its development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in both Nepali and English.
  • Computer skill (Ms.word, excel, PowerPoint etc)

Salary and Benefits: Basic salary will be 30000/month, residential allowance, SSF, Dashain allowance, communication and fuel will be provided. 

Note:  two wheeler's license is mandatory.

2. Children Care Taker- 1

Employment type: Residential in Children home. 

Working days: 5 days in a week 

Location: Godavari-10, Chapagaun, Lalitpur.

Job Summary: The Orphanage children care worker plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being, safety, and development of children residing in the orphanage home operated by the NGO. The primary responsibility is to provide a nurturing environment that fosters physical, emotional, mental and cognitive and social growth for orphaned children. The caretaker works closely with other staff members to ensure the smooth functioning of the orphanage home. 

Responsibility

Child Care and Supervision:

  • Provide daily care, including feeding, bathing, dressing, and administering medication as necessary. 
  • Ensure a safe and hygienic living environment for children. 
  • Supervise children during daily activities, including meals, recreation, and study time.
  • Offer emotional support and guidance to children, helping them cope with the challenges of orphanhood. 
  • Monitor children’s behavior and intervene when necessary to address conflicts of behavioral issues. 
  • Child rights and child protection knowledge is an asset. 

Education and Development:

  • Support children in their educational pursuits, assisting with homework and educational activities. 
  • Encourage participation in extracurricular activities and provide opportunities for skill development.
  • Facilitate access to educational resources and opportunities for learning enrichment. 

Health and Wellness:

  • Coordinate medical care for children, including scheduling appointments and accompanying them to healthcare facilities. 
  • Monitor children’s health and well-being, reporting any concerns to relevant authorities. 
  • Promote healthy lifestyle habits, including nutrition and exercise. 

Administrative Tasks: 

  • Maintain accurate records of children’s personal information, academic progress, medical history, and progress. 
  • Assist in the procurement of supplies and resources needed for daily operations. 
  • Collaborate with administrative staff and help in administration work. 

Communication and Collaboration

  • Communicate regularly with children, staffs to ensure effective coordination and collaboration. 
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and community members to promote a supportive network for orphaned children. 

Qualification:

  • Minimum high school (+2) diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly in residential care setting, is desirable.
  • Knowledge of child development principles, trauma-informed care, and best practices in child welfare.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse children, families and professionals.
  • Compassion, patience, and empathy for the unique needs and experiences of orphaned children. 
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and willingness to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications for record-keeping and communication. 
  • Knowledge in report writing is plus point. 

Skills:

  • Strong understanding child and its development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in both Nepali and English.
  • Computer skill 

Salary and Benefits: Basic salary will be 20000/month, residential allowance, SSF, and Dashain allowance, will be provided. 

Note:  two wheeler's license is mandatory.

Note: Genuine passion for working with children. Willingness to travel and work in odd hours when required.
