ANSAB has been implementing a number of programs, and to ensure that its programs, policies, and institutional practices are equitable, inclusive, and transformative, ANSAB seeks to systematically integrate Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) across its organizational systems and project cycle: from design and implementation to monitoring, learning, and policy engagement. GENDER EQUALITY AND SOCIAL INCLUSION CONSULTANT

It places community empowerment and economic incentives at the heart of its approach and generates knowledge and results through applied research and studies to implement innovative solutions.

ANSAB has been implementing a number of programs, and to ensure that its programs, policies, and institutional practices are equitable, inclusive, and transformative, ANSAB seeks to systematically integrate Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) across its organizational systems and project cycle: from design and implementation to monitoring, learning, and policy engagement. In this context, ANSAB invites applications from a qualified GESI consultant to support the mainstreaming of GESI principles across organizational strategies; programs, projects and activities; and capacities and knowledge products.

Scope of work

The GESI consultant, under the overall guidance of the Deputy Executive Director, will be responsible to integrate GESI perspective at the institutional level and knowledge products; mainstream GESI principles across organizational strategies, programs and project; and engage in capacity building initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Revise and update ANSAB's GESI strategy in accordance to contemporary GESI frameworks.
  • Provide guideline to integrate GESI across the project cycle, including design, implementation, including in the MEAL system.
  • Develop step-by-step methodological tools to ensure GESI inclusive activities, in at least one project.
  • Design and deliver GESI orientation, training, and coaching sessions for ANSAB staff, partners, and relevant stakeholders, tailored to their roles and contexts.

Qualification and skills

  • Minimum Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
  • At least ten years of demonstrated professional experience in GESI mainstreaming, preferably in natural resource management, biodiversity conservation, or livelihood-related programs.
  • Proven experience in developing GESI strategies, tools, and capacity-building programs
  • Strong understanding of gender, social inclusion, and intersectionality in the context of Nepal.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in both English and Nepali.
  • Good computer skills including MS package.

Duration

The duration of the engagement will be for 40 days intermittent between 9th February to 30th April 2026.
