Association for International Solidarity in Asia – ASIA is funding the project "Development of the honey value chain in the buffer zones of Langtang National Park as a means to reduce environmental conflict and secure rural livelihoods", which is implemented by Participatory Initiative for Public Awareness and Learning – PIPAL in Rasuwa district, Nepal.  The project is currently in its inception phase, within February 2025 it aims to deliver the following outputs:

Output 1: Improved technical management skills of the beehives for the beekeepers, to achieve optimal hive management and reduced swarming of bees;

Output 2: Increased quality of the honey produced due to better harvest and post-harvest management, processing, and storing techniques;

Output 3: Increased quantity of honey produced by the beneficiaries.

Output 4: Enhanced financial management and business planning skills for the beneficiary beekeepers and established market connections in Rasuwa and Kathmandu districts.

In the framework of the project, ASIA, and PIPAL are looking to hire a consultant who will be responsible for the preparation of a baseline, midline, and end-line study to evaluate the project across its duration. This will involve the preparation of detailed project baseline, midline, and end-line questionaries, which will be corroborated by reports and data gathered at the beginning, throughout, and at the end of the project. The baseline, midline, and end-line assessments, as well as socio-economic data collection and report elaboration, shall be carried out by a beekeeping and agroforestry expert and will be the main tool to measure the impact of the project, as well as any potential adjustments necessary throughout its execution. Moreover, the baseline study will be pivotal to finalizing the selection of the project’s beneficiaries, across 5 wards of Naukunda Rural Municipality in the buffer zones of Langtang National Park in Rasuwa district. The maximum budget available for all 3 studies is NPR 275,000 only. 

Requirements:

  • Cover letter expressing interest in the project for final evaluation.
  • Separate Technical Proposal and Financial proposal with breakdowns of budget for each line item within the available budget limit 
  • Detail profile of the firm and Consultant's CV
  • Updated firm registration, VAT, and Tax clearance certificate.
  • Term of Reference (ToR) is available in the annex below and can be downloaded.

Terms of Reference (TOR)

The above-mentioned documents must be submitted via email. The email must be sent to a dedicated email address, that is: n.acharya@asia-ngo.org  and e.assini@asia-ngo.org. The document submission deadline is 28th April 2024. The procurement process shall be governed by ASIA's procurement policy.
