Call for Expression of Interest (EOI)

International Alert (Alert) along with national partners Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) and Institute of Human Rights Communication Nepal is implementing a project to promote safe, professional, independent and accountable media for the promotion of human rights, democracy and peace in Nepal. It aims to build capacity of media sector and strengthen the collaboration with human rights stakeholders to strengthen the democracy and peace in Nepal. It is being implemented in districts around all 7 provinces of Nepal. 

International Alert is seeking the following consultancy services from consultancy firm or company or consortium to produce a documentary film. 

Documentary film:

Media sector globally has been witnessing sea change as well as in Nepal. With the increased access to internet in urban and many rural areas, a direct result of this expansion is the increased use of social media, which as predicted will structurally transform the sector of media as we know it. There has been shift in dependency on traditional media to social media irrespective of the many unchecked facts and irregularities posing a threat due to misinformation. In addition, COVID-19 has contributed to the changing condition. This change fosters new debate on the issue of freedom of expression, media freedom, journalism and all-in the media sector. 

This assignment expected is to develop 7-10 minutes in-depth video documentary based on research to present among major stakeholders. The documentary will be used as major advocacy and policy dialogue resources material to foster dialogues on the media rights, freedom of expression, human rights and democracy. 

Interested and eligible consultancy firms or production companies or consortiums are requested to submit their technical proposal (not more than 10 pages, excluding CV of key persons outlying the core competencies and experiences) and financial proposal sealed separately.
