Background

Association of Youth Organizations Nepal (AYON) is currently on the final stages of Phase-2 of project ‘Youth for Climate Action (YCA)’, in Nepal, with partners British Council, to offer Nepalese youth an opportunity to engage in community level climate action (raising awareness, mitigation and adaptation) to develop their knowledge, skills, and networks to offer better, more impactful, and sustainable solutions to pressing social, economic, and environmental climate related issues through engagement of local communities. The project is providing support to bridge the gap of involvement of young women and men in policy advocacy and climate action, by building their capacity as well as providing them platforms and networks. The project provided skills and capability to young people, provide connections to young changemakers to enable them to take actions, and provide them voice and skills to deliver outcomes in their communities.

The project is currently looking for individuals with skills in talking the achievements of the project into a singular communication document that highlights projects success stories and impact through disaggregated data and illustrations. 

The specific objectives of under the contract

AYON seeks a consultant to create a comprehensive and visually engaging infographic that encapsulates the achievements and impact of the YCA Phase-2 project. This infographic should highlight success stories, project impacts through disaggregated data, and the overall contribution of the project to community-level climate action.

Scope of Work

  1. Conduct a thorough review of project documents, reports, and data related to the project.
  2. Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify key achievements, success stories, and impactful outcomes of the project.
  3. Summarize youth and climate policy review (document already complete and will be provided to the consultant to summarize) into the communication document. (estimated page count: 2 pages max)
  4. Engage with project participants, stakeholders, partners, including project staff to gather insights and feedback to ensure results are accurately represented. All mode of feedback is to be done through the use of virtual platforms without travel, with occasional in-person meeting with project management team.
  5. Develop a visually appealing and succent communication material including infographics that effectively communicates the project’s success stories through case stories, impact through disaggregated data and overall contributions using illustrations wherever possible.
  6. Ensure the designs aligns with AYON and British Council’s branding guidelines.
  7. Deliver final document in a high-resolution digital format suitable for digital and online dissemination

Key deliverables

The Following are the expected deliveries:

  1. An initial draft of the document showcasing the project’s success and impacts for AYONs and British Councils feedback. (Estimate page count: 12 pages)
  2. A final digital document incorporating feedback from AYON and the British Council in an editable source file for future modifications.

Basic requirement for the consultancy

  1. At least Master’s degree in Humanities, Development Studies, Management or any related field with at least 3 years of firsthand experience in areas like Institutional governance and using different assessment tools. 
  2. Proven experience of preparing similar documentation through use of graphic design and data visualization.
  3. Ability to analyze and present data in a visually appealing and easily understandable manner.
  4. Sound skills in report writing in English.

Time Frame

  1. The assignment is for 20 work days starting from July 16, 2024.The final document must be submitted to AYON by 10th August 2024.

Reporting

  1. The consultant will report to Program Manager-AYON and will work closely with project management team at the British Council.
