Vacancy Announcement for the position of Associate Program Officer

Consortium of Organizations Working for Child Participation (Consortium-Nepal) is a leading network working in the area of Child Participation for more than 2 decades adopting different strategies to meet its ultimate goal of promoting child participation in Nepal. With this backdrop, Consortium-Nepal is implementing the CSO strengthening program for child rights funded by Save the Children International Nepal. The position will be responsible for assisting in all the activities of the Program and campaigns initiated by Consortium-Nepal.

Consortium-Nepal invites applications from eligible candidates for the position below:

Position Title: Associate Program Officer

Contract duration: 15 February 2026 – 30 December 2026 with the possibility of extension. However, there will be an annual renewal position as per the performance revision. Also, note that there will be a 3-month provisional period starting from the date of the contract signing.

Position Location: Kathmandu, (With a frequent visit to different provinces)

1. Key Responsibilities 

  • Collect and compile good practices and documents.
  • Support in collecting relevant documents (child rights and governance) and share with the concerned partners and project team members.
  • Document the findings/learning and challenges from the monthly review and use them for the improvement of the project results.
  • Compile and document photos and videos of different events.
  • Co-ordinate with program/ project team to ensure effective implementation of the program
  • Ensure documentation of the Consortium program activities and dissemination of reports to concerned stakeholders.
  • Disseminate publications, reports, and updates of Consortium Nepal to the member organizations, Government, and other stakeholders. 
  • Study the plans and policies regarding child rights.
  • Prepare success stories, case stories
  • Frequently communicate with National Child Rights Council, members, provincial committees, and Federal Committees of Consortium-Nepal.
  • Update social media pages and groups of Consortium-Nepal.
  • Facilitate documentation and reporting of project data, lessons learned, and success stories for internal and external sharing 
  • Assist in administrative activities of Consortium Nepal.

2. Benefit Provision: 

The Position shall get the monthly basis salary as per the organization policy. In addition, s/he shall get an amount equal to the current pay scale of 1 month as the festival allowances once a year on a pro-rata basis.

4. Required Qualification

The Associate Program Officer will require being an exceptional, dedicated, and highly motivated professional, with a strong commitment to Consortium-Nepal's values and beliefs with the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sociology, media and communication/Journalism, business administration, and/or any similar field
  • Must be a child club graduate
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in similar sorts of positions that outline expected roles. (preferable)
  • Demonstrated experience in working with partner NGOs and government agencies.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office. 
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali 
  • Strong interpersonal communication and documentation skills and sensitivity in response to Children, gender, ethnicity, and disability.
