RUWDUC, established in 1995 with the objective of empowering and uplifting disadvantaged women, adolescents, and children believes that every human being has an inherent right to a healthy life, equal opportunities to education, employment, quality health care, and access to justice, and to live a violence-free and peaceful life, devoid from all forms of discrimination.
In partnership with the Partner’s Investment Fund (PIF) of Oxfam, RUWDUC is implementing ongoing PIF activities. Additionally, it is organizing a conference on “Youth, Women and Climate Change” in Dhangadhi, Sudurpashchim Province. This conference aims to bring together women and youth leaders, environmental experts, and policymakers to discuss and develop strategies for addressing climate change challenges in the region. The event will focus on empowering women and youth to take active roles in climate action, fostering sustainable practices, and enhancing community resilience. Through interactive sessions, workshops, and collaborative dialogues, the conference seeks to inspire and equip participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to drive impactful change in their communities. Therefore, RUWDUC is seeking job applications from qualified female Nepali nationals for a maximum of 6 months fixed term contract for the following position:
1. Job Title: Assistant Project Officer (APO) -1
The purpose of this job is to carry out a series of follow-up activities as per the workshop findings along with the development of a database for the Conference on “Youth, Women and Climate Change”.
2. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Engage in all ongoing PIF activities such as planning, programming, and implementations including their documentation and reporting on time, as required.
- Communicate with all key stakeholders such as participants, speakers, facilitators and local government officials etc. to ensure effective communication and collaboration with all stakeholders.
- Identify key stakeholders and donors for the conference and coordinate with them for their participation/contributions in the meetings, and workshops.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all conference activities and prepare and organize conference materials, including agendas, minutes, and reports.
- Assist in compiling and submitting detailed reports on conference outcomes and feedback, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to project managers and donors.
- Assist in the planning and coordination of conference logistics, including venue setup, travel arrangements, and accommodation, and manage on-site registration and provide support during the event timely.
- Assist and actively contribute to the planning and implementation of post-conference follow-up activities, ensuring timely documentation and reporting.
Requirements/qualification of Assistant Project Officer (APO):
- Intermediate Degree
- Proven experience in project coordination or event planning.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Fluent in writing and speaking English & Nepali languages.
- The ability to understand and communicate with people in their local language will be an asset.
- Familiar with the working modality of non-governmental organizations especially RUWDUC.
- Ability to work in a busy working environment, handling work pressure and meet deadlines.
- Leadership, time management, good coordination skills, and efficient team player.

Duration: Appointment will be immediate for a fixed term of 6 months. The probation period will be for 3 months. The possibility of extension is based on the project need and the satisfactory performance of the candidate.
