Details / requirements:

A research organization working on contemporary social and political issues invites applications from qualified, motivated, and committed Nepali citizens for the following position:

1. Position: Research Associate (1 No.)

Duration: Short-term (3 Months)

Duty Station: Kathmandu

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and compile the official and related documents of the different political parties of Nepal
  • Conduct desk study of the abovementioned documents and carry out interviews on related context as and when required.
  • Track the activities, related policies, events and evolving political context
  • Prepare analytical notes, research briefs and fact-findings
  • Support evidence-based report writing
  • Assist in documentation, archiving, and knowledge management
  • Coordinate with team members for data collection and content development
  • Perform other research and documentation tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree, preferably Master's Degree in Political/Social Sciences, Mass Communication, Journalism, Media or any fields with relevant experiences
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant work experience in research and documentation
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Nepal’s political context
  • Proven experience in research and analytical writing
  • Strong proficiency in English writing (mandatory)
  • Demonstrated experience in journalistic-type research and writing will be an added advantage
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently

2. Position: Front Desk and Communication Assistant (1 No.)

Duty Station: Kathmandu

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support meeting arrangements, scheduling, and office communication
  • Maintain and manage the office library, files, and documentation system
  • Maintain records, reports, and official documents in both soft and hard copies
  • Manage reception and front-desk operations, including handling visitors, phone calls, and correspondence
  • Provide administrative support to program and management teams
  • Assist in day-to-day office operations, logistics, and coordination
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Intermediate (+2) or Bachelor’s degree preferable Master Degree in Management, Social Sciences, or related fields,
  • At least 1–2 years of relevant work experience in reception, front-desk handling, administration, or office management
  • Experience in library management and documentation will be an added advantage
  • Good command of Nepali and English
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and basic office software
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
