Project Manager/PFM Expert

Chemonics seeks a Project Manager for the anticipated USAID Nepal Public Financial Management Strengthening Project. This five-year program is expected to enhance the capacity of targeted government of Nepal (GON) ministries and agencies to improve transparency and accountability of public financial management systems. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

·     Taking responsibility of managing project activities, and establishing functional relationships and partnership with the project stakeholders.

·      Taking responsibility of project management overseeing monitoring and evaluation and knowledge management with the help of M&E Specialist.

·      S/he may serve as PFM expert with or after completion of tenure of Public Finance Expert.

Qualifications:

1.    The candidate must have at least five years’ experience in project cycle management, partnership with government and non-government stakeholders, good understanding about public expenditure management, budget planning, procurement, establishment of financial systems and controls, computerized accounting systems, financial accounting and auditing.

2.     The candidate must have experience with donor-funded financial management / capacity building programs and procedures.

3.     The candidate must have master’s degree in financial management or relevant subject with at least five years practical experience in project management related to PFM.

4.     The candidate must have excellent communication (written and oral) skills in English and Nepali languages.

5.     Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity.
