Established in 1993, Nepali Technical Assistance Group (NTAG) is a national non-government and non-profit public health organization dedicated to improve the health and nutritional status of women and children of Nepal through sustainable development changes. NTAG is partner to SUAAHARA-II project and seeks to recruit Nutrition SBCC Officer.

Number of Position: 13

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the district team (DC, WASH, HFP officers) and local NGOs in the process of planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and advocacy of project approaches and activities of nutrition component
  • Wo rk closely with MCHN/GESI district officer to support linkages of community level nutrition activities with Suaahara II’s Health Services component
  • W ork closely with DPHO/DHO to support implementation of national nutrition programs such as Vitamin A, Growth Monitoring, Maternal iron supplementation and promotion of iodized salt.
  • Take a lead role in delivery of Suaahara II’s community nutrition component in the districts
  • Ensure quality implementation of the community level nutrition activities (BCC activities, FCHV/GON, PHC/ORC strengthening activities, nutrition training activities) in line with district DIPs
  • Support the PNGO team to follow program guidelines, curriculums, protocols of health service & community nutrition components, ensure quality implementation of training, review meetings, and follow up after trainings, orientations & workshops/programs at district to community level
  • Support in conducting training of at different levels in the district.
  • Assist in compiling the nutrition activities inputs to donor project reports, with assistance from the appropriate staff.

Knowledge and skills required:

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized university in nutrition and health;
  • At least 1 year experience preferable in health and nutrition projects; and
  • Experience in working with district line agencies like: DHO/DPHO, DEO, DADO, WDO, DDC, DLSO, DWSSO, etc.
