Your Responsibilities 

- Support the IT infrastructure, especially for our operations within Kathmandu (plus 2 locations in Germany plus various data center based hardware)

- Administration of server and client operating systems, including the corresponding server services (especially LAMP, ClearOS, VMWare ESX)

- Support of the network infrastructure (firewall, VPN, NAS, Dual WAN links, etc.) and server configuration and maintenance

- Ensuring IT security including backup management and user rights management (LDAP, IPSec connections, shared storage, remote backup / restore, etc.)

- Research on, selection, and purchase of required IT components and licenses

- Support of VoIP services such as Sipgate and FreePBX / Asterisk

- Database configuration and administration

Required Knowledge

- Work experience in a similar position

- Extensive training as an IT infrastructure specialist or a Computer Science university degree

- Very good IT administration skills

- Very good knowledge and experience in server virtualization

- Profound knowledge in network security (Firewall, IPsec, VPN SSL-VPN/PPTP/Open VPN)

- Very good knowledge in the configuration and operation of NAS devices/ storage virtualization

- Ideally experience in the administration of databases (MySQL, Oracle, etc.)

- Experience with the administration of VoIP and telephone equipment (Sipgate, Asterisk)

- Very good English, spoken and written

- High commitment and flexibility
