Established in 1990, Banke UNESCO Club is a non-government organization and registered under the District Administration Office, Banke and affiliated to Social Welfare Council, Kathmandu, The establishment of the organization has been inspired by the ideals of non-violence, social justice, self-reliance, sustainable development and volunteerism. The organization is dedicated to the ideals of holistic and integrated development based on a harmonious balance of socio-culture, material, scientific environmental aspects and increase in literacy rate of Disadvantaged, Marginalized, Deprived, and other Poorest of Poorer groups (POP) including women and child by providing quality education.
Banke UNESCO Club (BUC) has signed a contract with RTI International for implementing and managing the community mobilization component of the Early Grade Reading Program (EGRP) in Banke district. The overall purpose of the community mobilization of EGRP is to increase family and community support for improvement of early grade reading for children from grades one to three. BUC will work directly with School, SMC, PTA, Tole Reading Group and all relevant community forums in close coordination with District Education Office (DEO) and Resource Centre (RC) for implementing activities related to community mobilization of EGRP in Banke district.
Banke UNESCO Club is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following positions to implement community mobilization component of EGRP in Banke district. Title/ Position: Finance Officer
DESCRIPTION/PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Finance Coordinator (FC) is responsible for recording and reporting financial transaction with ensuring compliance with donor rules, regulation according to Nepal Government Laws and Organizational Policies related to activities implemented under community mobilization of Early Grade Reading Program to increase family and community support for Early Grade Reading Program in Banke district in Nepal
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s in Management, Accounts, Business Studies or relevant field such as economics with 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Prior experience in managing USAID funds will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of current government's tax policies and labor laws.
- Competent in computer skills Microsoft office specially in the use of MS Excel and any other accounting software
- Knowledge of accounting, auditing system and financial monitoring system
- Oral fluency in English and Nepali language for communication and also report writing skill in English is a must
