Digo Bikash Samaj (DBS), Bhajani Kailali is an umbrella organization of community-based organizations (CBOs). It is a non-governmental, non-profit, and non-political organization registered with the District Administration Office and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council Nepal and NGO Federation Kailali. DBS works in the areas of livelihood, WASH and sanitation, disaster risk management/climate change adaptation, good governance, rights protection, and institutional capacity development.

DBS Bhajani Kailali is implementing the HATEMALO for Child Wellbeing and Integrated Development Project in partnership with World Vision International Nepal. The project is being implemented in Bhajani, Ghodaghodi, Tikapur, and Gauriganga Municipalities, and Kailari Rural Municipality of Kailali District. DBS is seeking qualified, dynamic, and motivated Nepali citizens for the following position:

Position: Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) Officer – 1 Position (Female Only)

Major Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support during annual planning of WEE interventions and approaches based on project scope.
• Lead the implementation of WEE interventions and ensure timely progress.
• Plan and integrate gender-responsive market assessments and other WEE-related assessments.
• Develop WEE strategies and work plans based on assessment findings, ensuring a “do no harm” approach.
• Support the monitoring team in data collection, analysis, and reporting of WEE outcomes.
• Provide technical assistance and mentorship to project staff on WEE-related issues.
• Conduct focus group discussions and other assessments to identify challenges and opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare progress reports, sharing key findings with the project team and stakeholders.
• Document best practices, lessons learned, and success stories from WEE initiatives.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, economics, social work, sociology, or a related field.
• In-depth understanding of women’s economic empowerment (WEE) approaches and methodologies.
• Proven experience in implementing WEE or livelihood projects, technical/vocational training, and working with financial service providers (FSPs).
• Strong understanding of GEDSI, community-led initiatives, and local-level advocacy with government stakeholders.
• Excellent facilitation, capacity assessment, and mentoring skills.
• Ability to prepare and monitor budgets and track quarterly expenses.
• Strong report writing skills for semi-annual and annual reports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
