Background

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. Plan International has been working in Nepal since 1978 helping marginalized children, their families and communities to access their rights to survival, protection and participation. With the close coordination of local partners and stakeholders, we are working in 14 districts across the country. 

We invite applications from interested candidates for the following positions:

1. Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) Specialist-1 Position (Short-term employment upto 1 year; Open to all applicants) based in Country Office

Responsibility: Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) Specialist will ensure an effective MERL system is in place for Plan International Nepal programs/projects. The position holder will be primarily responsible to facilitate the programme/project team with development of results framework as well as be development and standardization of MERL systems and tools across all projects. The MERL Specialist will provide inputs to Senior Technical Advisors and Project Managers in project design to ensure effective application of program learning as well as to lead on baselines, mid-term and endline evaluations and research for the projects assigned by the Line Manager.

2. Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) Trainee-1 Position (Short-term employment upto 1 year; Open to all applicants) based in Regional Office-West, Surkhet

Responsibility: The MERL Trainee is required to assist MERL Specialist in tools development, information/data collection, basic analysis and report writing along with training Social Mobilizers and Enumerators to collect data in app-based surveys – ODK, Kobo etc and MERL SCYP risk assessment orientation. Additionally, the role requires assisting in data/document management including reporting (PDM, Quarterly Narrative Report, CEA) under the guidance of Research, Evaluation and Knowledge Management Specialist. 

3. Grants & Compliance Coordinator-1 Position (Short-term employment upto 1 year; Open to all applicants) based in Country Office

Responsibility: Grants and Compliance Coordinator as a key member of the Business Development Department, will be primarily responsible towards supporting the Grants and Compliance Manager (GCM) in donor compliance management through quality assurance and standards, with emphasis on grants healthiness review and oversight. The GRC is expected to do so with active engagement support to programme and project teams on adequate and appropriate delivery of restricted funds. The Position Holder will also ensure that all grants data and relevant documentation is updated in all Plan internal applications and platforms; through management guidance of the GCM, will liaise with all relevant Plan teams and colleagues towards enabling a multi-unit cohesive working environment. Additionally, the Position Holder will be focal point for Partnership management comprising of Partner selection, evaluation, onboarding, documentation and archiving.
