Child Development Nepal (CDN), established in 2015 in Sarlahi, is a social organization dedicated to improving the lives of marginalized children, youth, women, and disadvantaged communities through education, health, nutrition, livelihood promotion, women empowerment, and humanitarian response. Working across ten municipalities, CDN has implemented major initiatives such as the “Education and Livelihood for Dignified Life” project with Aide et Action Nepal, while also providing critical support during disasters, including floods and COVID-19. Over the years, it has benefited thousands—enrolling out-of-school children, offering scholarships, enhancing teaching quality, providing vocational trainings, and distributing relief materials. Guided by strong governance, comprehensive policies, and a committed team, CDN continues to promote child rights, gender equality, social inclusion, and community resilience through sustainable, people-centered development.

Child Development Nepal (CDN), established in 2015 (2071 B.S.) and registered with the District Administration Office, Sarlahi, is a community-based non-governmental organization affiliated with the Social Welfare Council (SWC). CDN has been actively working for a decade across Madhesh Province to uplift marginalized and deprived children, adolescents, youth, and women by promoting their rights, well-being, and access to essential services. The organization implements programs in education, health, nutrition, WASH, livelihood promotion, TVET, women empowerment, child rights, environmental sanitation, gender equality and social inclusion (GESI), as well as disaster response and preparedness. With strong coordination and collaboration with local governments, schools, health facilities, community groups, and development partners, CDN has built a strong grassroots presence and community trust in Sarlahi, Mahottari, and Rautahat districts.
CDN has recently launched a new project titled “Health, DRR and Education Project” in Sarlahi, Mahottari, and Rautahat to improve community health, strengthen disaster risk reduction (DRR) preparedness, and enhance the quality of education for vulnerable families. The project focuses on promoting preventive health practices, nutrition awareness, school safety, resilience building, and child-friendly learning environments through meaningful engagement with mothers’ groups, adolescents, youth, teachers, community leaders, and local authorities. This initiative aims to reduce vulnerabilities and support marginalized communities to access better health services, safer educational spaces, and improved disaster preparedness.

1. Post: District Coordinator-3 (Sarlahi-1, Mahottari-1, Rautahat-1)
Project: Health, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and WASH in Education
Duty Station: Sarlahi / Mahottari / Rautahat
Reporting to: Executive Director
1. Position Overview
The District Coordinator will be responsible for planning, implementing, supervising, and monitoring all project activities under the “Health, DRR and Education” project at the district level. The position ensures strong coordination with local governments, schools, health facilities, communities, and project staff to achieve project goals related to health, education, and disaster risk reduction (DRR). The role requires leadership, field supervision, documentation skills, and strong stakeholder engagement.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Project Implementation
- Lead and oversee all district-level activities related to health, education, nutrition, and DRR.
- Ensure timely and quality implementation of planned interventions in coordination with field teams.
- Facilitate awareness sessions, trainings, school safety activities, health campaigns, and DRR preparedness actions.
B. Coordination & Networking
- Maintain regular coordination with Municipalities, Ward Offices, Health Posts, Schools, Women/Mothers’ Groups, and local partners.
- Represent CDN in district-level meetings, clusters, and technical working groups.
- Strengthen partnerships with community-based organizations and stakeholders.
C. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Conduct frequent field visits to ensure progress, quality, and compliance.
- Collect and verify field data, success stories, and case studies.
- Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to the central office.
D. Staff Supervision & Capacity Building
- Supervise Field Officers, Social Mobilizers, and volunteers in the district.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and capacity-building support to improve field performance.
- Ensure staff adhere to organizational policies, safeguarding standards, and code of conduct.
E. Budget & Logistics Management
- Manage district-level budgets and ensure expenditures are as per guidelines.
- Oversee logistics, procurement support, and distribution of project materials.
- Ensure transparency, accountability, and proper documentation.
F. Community Engagement
- Mobilize mothers’ groups, adolescents, teachers, youth groups, and community leaders.
- Promote community awareness on preventive health practices, nutrition, school safety, and DRR.
- Support community-led advocacy and resilience-building activities.
3. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Public Health, Education, Social Work, Rural Development, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in NGO project coordination (Health, DRR, Education preferred).
- Knowledge of government systems, local governance, DRR, nutrition, and community mobilization.
- Strong communication, coordination, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to manage teams and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in MS Office, reporting, email, and field data management.
- Willingness to travel frequently across rural communities.

Reporting to: District Coordinator
1. Position Overview
The Program Officer will support the effective implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the “Health, DRR and Education” project at the district and community levels. The role involves coordinating field activities, engaging with stakeholders, providing technical support to field teams, and ensuring that project interventions on health, education, nutrition, and disaster risk reduction (DRR) are delivered with quality and within the planned timeline.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Program Implementation
- Assist in planning and executing project activities related to health promotion, nutrition awareness, school safety, and DRR preparedness.
- Facilitate training sessions, orientations, community meetings, and school-level activities.
- Support mothers’ groups, adolescents, teachers, and community groups in project interventions.
- Ensure activities are implemented according to project guidelines and standards.
B. Monitoring & Field Support
- Conduct regular field visits to track progress, identify gaps, and provide on-site support to Social Mobilizers and field staff.
- Collect accurate data, attendance sheets, photos, and field reports from community activities.
- Support MEAL processes including baseline assessments, monitoring, and documentation.
- Ensure safeguarding, GESI, and accountability standards are followed in all activities.
C. Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintain coordination with Municipalities, Ward Offices, Schools, Health Facilities, Women’s Groups, and Community Leaders.
- Participate in district-level coordination meetings, cluster meetings, and project review sessions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local partners and stakeholders.
D. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports and submit them to the District Coordinator.
- Document case studies, success stories, and best practices from the field.
- Support data entry, record keeping, and documentation of project materials.
- E. Logistics & Support Functions
- Facilitate the distribution of project materials and ensure proper documentation.
- Provide logistical support for trainings, workshops, field visits, and community events.
- Assist finance and admin teams in ensuring proper use of resources.
3. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Education, Social Work, Rural Development, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in NGO/community-level program implementation.
- Knowledge of health promotion, education systems, nutrition, DRR, and community mobilization.
- Good communication, facilitation, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and reporting.

Duty Station: Field Level (Municipalities/Wards)
Reports To: Program Officer
1. Position Overview
The Social Mobilizer will be responsible for mobilizing communities, conducting field-level activities, and supporting the effective implementation of the Health, DRR, and Education project. The position engages directly with households, mothers’ groups, youth groups, schools, health facilities, and vulnerable communities. The Social Mobilizer ensures community participation, awareness-raising, data collection, and coordination with local structures to achieve project outcomes.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Community Mobilization & AwarenessMobilize mothers’ groups, adolescents, teachers, youth groups, and community leaders.
- Conduct household visits, group meetings, and awareness sessions on health, nutrition, school safety, and DRR.
- Facilitate campaigns, street dramas, orientations, and community-based activities.
B. Support in Project Implementation
- Assist in implementing health camps, school safety activities, training events, and DRR preparedness sessions.
- Facilitate distribution of materials and ensure they reach targeted beneficiaries.
- Support behavior change communication (BCC) activities at the community level.
C. Field Data Collection & Reporting
- Collect beneficiary data, attendance, field updates, case stories, and success stories.
- Submit daily/weekly field reports to the Field Officer or District Coordinator.
- Maintain proper documentation of activities conducted in the field.
D. Coordination & Networking
- Coordinate with Ward Offices, Health Posts, Schools, and community-based organizations.
- Participate in local meetings, events, and campaigns representing the project.
- Support local stakeholders to identify vulnerable households and priority groups.
E. Community Engagement & Support
- Conduct door-to-door visits for health and education messaging.
- Facilitate community discussions, interactions, and problem-solving.
- Encourage participation of marginalized groups, women, and adolescents.
F. Safeguarding & Compliance
- Follow organizational safeguarding policies and code of conduct.
- Ensure protection of children, women, and vulnerable populations during all activities.
- Report any safeguarding concerns immediately to supervisors.
3. Required Qualifications
- Minimum +2 (Intermediate) in Education, Public Health, Social Science, or related discipline (Bachelor’s preferred).
- At least 1 year of experience in community mobilization (Health, DRR, Education preferred).
- Experience working with mothers’ groups, schools, or youth groups.
- Basic knowledge of local governance, community mobilization, health, and DRR.
- Ability to conduct field activities independently.
- Good communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer and mobile-app literacy (data entry, photos, reporting).
