Dalit help Society (DHS) is a Non- Governmental Organization that was established in 2063 (2006) By seven energetic and active Dalit young people in Lekgoun of Chhabispathivera Rural Municipality. In the Beginning, they ran a community awareness program through a cultural show and a sanitation campaign. All were new and inexperienced in this field but they met in a small rented room where they wrote their own Constitution. Almost all the young Dalit people in the community had bad experiences of untouchability and poverty and this provided the major agenda for their meeting. 

In partnership with World Vision International Nepal (WVIN), Dalit Help Society is going to implement the Nutrition and Resilient Livelihood Technical (NRL) Project in Kedarsiun Rural Municipality of Bajhang district. Therefore, now DHS is seeking qualified, dynamic and motivated Nepali citizens for the following positions for smooth implementation of these projects.

Project Coordinator 01

No. of Vacancies: 01

Location:  Bajhang District, Kedarsiun Municipality

Purpose: Project Coordinator will lead the overall programme portfolio between Two hundred thousand to Four hundred thousand (in figure 200,000 - 400,000) USD budget per annum to implement provided sectors with a cohesive integration among sectors and cross cutting themes. The child wellbeing outcomes will be the key focus to strengthen the sustainability efforts with community groups and in government systems. The team will be led with strong motivation and effective workforce management to manage effective implementation through comprehensive planning and problem-solving approaches. This position has imperativeness to highlight key successes and evidences of the programme through validated data, effective information management systems and case studies.  

This position expects to have agile leadership to manage multiple priorities, adapting to change and incorporate learning in the programme and managerial scope. The incumbent is expected to maintain a good coordination and collaboration with internal and relevant external stakeholders to effectively manage programme. Along with this, there should be strong focus on programme sustainability efforts as envisioned by the given projects and programme.  

This position expects to maintain a strong professionalism and role modelling for the team and others to demonstrate integrity, accountability, passion, commitment and strong team spirit. The incumbent should be able to work independently and interdependently managing every kind of situation and contexts. The major responsibilities with relevant key capabilities stated below are envisioned to be able to lead the organization meeting the expected deliverables confidently.  

The incumbent strives in empowering community groups, households and institutions to address and manage the issues to sustain. The local resources are managed well to effectively run the project interventions for a longer run.  

This position requires to be innovative and problem-solving skills to adapt to changes and multiple priorities.  

Academic Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Agriculture, management, social science or business studies with minimum 5 years working experience in managing multiple projects with diverse team or  
  • Master degree in the relevant field, management, social science of business studies preferred with minimum of 3 years of work experience in managing multiple projects with diverse team 
  • Proven ability to manage risks and promote governance to contribute on strategic outcomes 
  • Experience working with children and their wellbeing in both development or emergency contexts 

Sector Knowledge:  

  • Have a good technical knowledge and experience on sector, data and information management 
  • Proven project management and financial management experience 
  • Diverse team management to yield quality results within the stipulated time period 
  • Presentation skill to highlight on the areas of success and failures with qualitative and quantitative data and relevant information 

Finance and Admin Officer 01

Location:  Bajhang District Kedarsiun Municipality

Position Description: This position will be responsible for providing overall Financial, admin and supply chain support to the organisation and ensure that all the financial truncations are adhered to the required financial compliance of the organization, donor and governmental compliances, which includes payment and disbursements; financial analysis and reporting for the achievement of overall organization and project goal.

A. Academic Qualification and Experience: 

  • Bachelor Degree of Commerce, Business Studies or Equivalent
  • Master Degree in Finance/Accounting or Equivalent, preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in independently handling budgeting, financial accounting, planning and analysis in I/NGO and preferably within WVIN projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of MS office Package (Word/Excel/PowerPoint etc.) & Internet
  • Experience of working in a computerized accounting environment like IPAS, FAMAS.
  • Ability to lead financial management of the project/program and make the linkage of this with overall financial management of the organization

B. Sector Knowledge: 

  • General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Good command of English & Nepali languages (written & spoken)
  • Practical knowledge of project budgeting, accounting & reporting
  • Able to articulate and communicate ideas well verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge of tax and compliance
  • Demonstrated Mentoring, Orientation & Training Skill
  • Good interpersonal, problem-solving & time management skills
  • Willingness to work under pressure with tight deadlines and to travel across the project areas.

Field Officer Basic Secure Livelihood -1

Location:  Bajhang District Kedarsiun Municipality

Qualification/Experience 

  • Bachelors in Agriculture or relevant discipline with two years of experience in Nutrition and resilient livelihood technical projects (preferably, Nutrition/Livelihood/Child Right or Community based advocacy projects)

Key Skills and Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of Government policy, programme priorities, needs and issues in relation the sector priorities
  • Basic understanding of WVIN Nutrition and resilient livelihood technical projects. 
  • Good communication skills to deal with project team and stakeholders.
  • Basic understanding on the importance of Networking and Liaise with Local Government, Business 
  • Ensure the participation of Registered Children and integration other sectors i.e., CESP and Protection, Nutrition and Resilient Livelihood. 

Meal Assistant 01

Qualification/Experience 

  • Intermediate in social science or development studies in the field relevant to M&E At least 2 years of experience working with I/NGO in the field of monitoring, evaluation and accountability sector 

Key Skills and Knowledge:

  • Data collection methodologies – qualitative and quantitative
  • Effective written and oral communications skills including presentation and reporting skills
  • Computer and Technology literacy; Good computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Develop tools to collect the information against indicator
  • Demonstrate collaboration & team building skills
  • Confidence to represent in district; government and other like-minded organization
  • Programme logic, indicators, M&E plan

Field Mobilizer- Livelihood-BSL 03

Qualification/Experience 

  • Intermediate (+ 2) in any relevant field at least 3 years work experience or JTA -At least 2 years of work experience or Intermediate in agriculture science with one year work experience in community.

Key Skills and Knowledge:

  • Good communication skills to deal with project team and stakeholders
  • Knowledge on Market Development (LVCD), Alternative livelihood (TVET, SYIB, BF)), Financial Inclusion (S4T, Coops)
  • Strong coordination skills with local level stakeholders (Parents, school management committee, child clubs, health institutions, rural municipality, cooperatives and various community groups).
  • Basic Knowledge on local value chain development process, 
  • Basic understanding on situation Analysis of Local Producers and Market Opportunities.
