About PTYSM

Panchtara Yuwa Samrakshak Manch (PTYSM) is a non-profit, non-governmental humanitarian and development organization registered with the District Administration Office, Jajarkot, and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council of Nepal. Established in 1997, PTYSM is a youth-led organization driven by experienced development professionals and social workers committed to promoting sustainable and inclusive development.

PTYSM has been implementing integrated development and humanitarian programs across Karnali Province, focusing on food security, nutrition, sustainable livelihoods, inclusive education, disaster risk reduction (DRR), humanitarian response, protection, disability inclusion, and climate resilience. The organization is committed to promoting equity, inclusion, accountability, and resilience, ensuring that women, children, marginalized communities, and persons with disabilities benefit from its interventions.

Currently, PTYSM is implementing the Karnali Earthquake Recovery: Inclusive Livelihood Project in Nalagad Municipality of Jajarkot District and Sanibheri Rural Municipality of Rukum West District. The project aims to improve the livelihoods and resilience of earthquake-affected households, particularly persons with disabilities (PWDs), through inclusive livelihood opportunities, advocacy initiatives, institutional strengthening, and the mobilization and empowerment of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs).

In addition, PTYSM, in partnership with Ipas Nepal, is implementing the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Project in Nalagad Municipality and Chhedagad Municipality of Jajarkot District. The project works closely with communities, local governments, health facilities, and other stakeholders to strengthen access to quality sexual and reproductive health services, including safe abortion care, family planning, prevention and response to gender-based violence (GBV), community engagement, health systems strengthening, policy advocacy, climate justice, and the broader SRHR movement.

PTYSM invites applications from qualified, competent, and self-motivated Nepali citizens for the following positions:

1. Field Supervisor – Karnali Earthquake Recovery: Inclusive Livelihood Project

Duty Station: Field-based (Nalagad Municipality, Jajarkot or Sanibheri Rural Municipality, Rukum West)

Contract Duration: Annual (renewable based on performance and project availability)

Role Purpose

Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and technical guidance of the Livelihood Officer, the Field Supervisor will lead and facilitate community-, ward-, and municipal-level livelihood, disability inclusion, and advocacy interventions. The position requires close coordination with local governments, agriculture and livestock offices, disaster management committees, OPDs, youth groups, community institutions, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure high-quality implementation of project activities.

The Field Supervisor will work closely with municipal agriculture, livestock, environment, and disability units, as well as public and private sector actors, to strengthen inclusive livelihood systems and contribute to the achievement of project outcomes.

Scope of Role

  • Reports to: Livelihood Officer (Primary) and Project Manager (as required)

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Certificate Level (+2) in Agriculture or a three-year Diploma in Agriculture, or Natural Resource Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum two years of relevant professional experience in livelihood, agriculture, climate resilience, DRR, or disability inclusion projects.
  • Demonstrated experience working with local governments, community institutions, and marginalized groups.
  • Experience in disability-inclusive livelihood programming will be considered an added advantage.
  • Strong facilitation, coordination, reporting, and communication skills.

2. Project Officer – Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)

Duty Station: PTYSM Central Office, Khalanga, Jajarkot (approximately 80% field travel)

Contract Duration: Annual (renewable based on performance and project availability)

Role Purpose

Under the overall guidance and direct supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Project Officer will be responsible for the effective implementation and coordination of project activities related to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). The position will support interventions focusing on safe abortion services, family planning, community engagement, agency building, gender-based violence (GBV), health systems strengthening, policy advocacy, climate justice, and the advancement of the SRHR movement.

The Project Officer will closely coordinate with municipalities, health facilities, community stakeholders, and project partners to ensure timely, high-quality, and results-oriented implementation of project activities.

Scope of Role

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or Helath Education with a Certificate Level (HA) qualification and at least two years of experience in health-related projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in community development, public health programming, social mobilization, or humanitarian/development projects.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of SRHR, gender equality, safeguarding, and community engagement approaches.
