Terms of Reference for Creation of Animation Video on Climate Smart Dairy Farming in Nepal

Background

Heifer Project Nepal (HPN) is implementing a project “Climate Smart Dairy Farming in Nepal” with funding support of AGCO Agriculture Foundation through Heifer Netherland. The dairy sector is a vital source of livelihoods, nutrition, and food security in Nepal. However, dairy animal farming is also one of the major sources of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, which exacerbate the effects of climate change and affect the sustainability of dairy farming. As part of its knowledge sharing objective, the project aims to produce dissemination materials to create awareness on climate smart dairy farming. Therefore, HPN seeks animation video productions companies/ independent producers to create a 2D animation video of around 4-5 minutes pertaining to the “Climate Smart Dairy Farming in Nepal”.      

Key Responsibilities.

• Create a storyboard outlining the visual sequence of the animation and animation style with the given script and story that effectively communicates the key messages. 
• Utilize creative 2D animation techniques to bring the storyboard to life, incorporating visuals, motion graphics, and animations to effectively convey the content of the script.
• Record a clear and engaging or narration voiceover in Nepali that guides viewers through the video, providing explanations and insights.
• Ensure the video meets high standards of quality in terms of content accuracy, visual appeal, and technical execution for all age groups.
• Incorporate feedback from HPN team and make revisions as necessary in the final product. 
• Only use open contents, independently created animations, and avoid plagiarism.

Key Requirements:

• Experience in making 2D animation video, especially experience in creating educational and awareness video will be prioritized.
• At least 1 sample of previous work or work portfolio link should be submitted.
• Preference will be given to creative animation styles, highlighting Nepali culture and environment.

Deliverables: 

• Storyboard outlining the style of the animation.
• Draft video
• Final video

Duration: 3 months from signing of the contract between April to July 2024

2. Portfolio sample or Link
3. Brief proposal (maximum two page) with budget and timeline
4. Copy of VAT/PAN registration certificate

HPN reserves the right to accept or reject any proposal and to annul the selection process and reject all proposals at any time prior to contract award, without thereby incurring any liability to affected individuals.
