Temporary Finance Assistant, Finance

Role Purpose:

The organization is seeking a temporary Finance Assistant to support the finance department with operational finance and compliance related works.

Main Accountabilities:

The main accountabilities of the Finance Assistant position are:

  • To support the finance department with operational finance activities such as bank reconciliation, tax accounting, timesheet review, vendor payments
  • To assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • To provide administrative support to the finance department as needed

Scope of Work:

The Finance Assistant will be responsible for the following tasks:

(A) Operational Finance:

  • Finalize monthly total sales working in conjunction with operation team and support reconciliation
  • Print billing document upon completion of sales delivery and provide invoices to B2B partners on time for debt management
  • Support finance officer in the review and confirmation of venue staff timesheets
  • Work with finance officer and business operation to analyse receipts and support income recording
  • Documentation of monthly VAT return, withholding tax return, staff travel expenses and staff payroll retirement fund
  • Documentation of purchase and sales invoices as per Nepali calendar month

(B) Compliance:

  • Categorize WHT monthly details as per Trial Balance expense schedule
  • Receive confirmation of sales (from customers) and purchase (from all vendors) at year end
  • Send annual sales and purchase confirmation to customers and vendors at year end
  • Preparation of debtor and creditor balance report including information on sales tax, withholding tax, invoice date and number
  • Prepare details of withholding tax and VAT payable at year end
  • Prepare ad hoc reports required to support company’s tax reporting at the year end

  • Business development team
  • Customer service team

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field or at least part-qualified ACCA/CA
  • At least 2 years of experience working in/for tax compliance of commercial entities
  • Possessing good learning attitude
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time-management skill
  • Strong written and verbal communication skill

Reporting:

The Finance Assistant will report directly to the Finance Officer.
