Group of Helping Hands (SAHAS) Nepal is a non-profit making non-governmental-organization founded in 1996 since then engaging social mobilization, grassroots organisation/Community-Based Network Organisation (CBNO) formation and enhancing their capacity through partnership and implementing diverse programme and projects in the sectors of sustainable agriculture, livelihood, food security, climate justice, advocacy and lobby, quality education, youth development in 21 districts of Nepal. 

SAHAS Nepal is looking the potential candidate for the following positions:

1. Position: Technical Coordinator

Project: Local Initiatives for Food Security Transformation (LIFT) Project

Duty station: Lalitpur district (with frequently site visits of the project districts)

Required number: 1

Academic qualification/experiences:

  • Master's degree in Agriculture 
  • Experience of minimum of three years in Food and Nutrition Security or sustainable agriculture 
  • Experience of project management including planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting, and developing proposals. 
  • Experiences on participatory research, development approach, community mobilization and project implementation
  • Skills in community development, empowerment, lobby and advocacy with understanding of local context and sensitiveness
  • Good inter-personal, analytical, communication and facilitation skills
  • Good knowledge and enthusiasm for working with vulnerable communities living in project areas
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English

Major responsibilities:

  • Management of project plan and budget and review periodically
  • Facilitate to develop the staff capacity to implement the project including developing their understanding and capacity to implement project activities
  • Regularly monitors project activities to ensure they are being completed on time and according to the project plan
  • Compare actual progress with planned milestones, identify any delays or issues, and report these to the manager
  • Monitor the progress of project related to food security and nutrition in accordance with output and outcome indicators and submit quality report on timely basis
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual project reports and financial report 
  • Linkage and network with province level ministries, departments and I/NGOs for coordination and cooperation.

2. Position: Project Coordinator

Projects: Arambha, Samriddhi and YEEP-2

Duty station: Jahada Rural Municipality and Dhanpaalthan Rural Municipality, Morang district

Required number: 1

Academic qualification/experiences:

  • Master degree in Agriculture/Social Sciences, Education from recognized university with five years experiences or Bachelors degree in Agriculture/Social Sciences or Education from recognized university with ten years experiences
  • Experiences in livelihood, food security, nutrition, quality education and youth development
  • High level of skills in project management, planning, budgeting, monitoring, reporting, coordination and networking with relevant stakeholders
  • Experiences on participatory research, development approach, community mobilization and project implementation
  • Skills in community development, empowerment, lobby and advocacy with understanding of local context and sensitiveness
  • Good inter-personal, analytical, communication and facilitation skills
  • Good knowledge and enthusiasm for working with vulnerable communities living in project areas
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English

Major responsibilities:

  • Coordination with stakeholders at Municipalities/Rural municipalities and province level and with Funding Partners
  • Take full responsibilities of financial and administrative management of the project district.
  • Overall Project planning, budgeting and implementation and monitoring of local partners and project activities
  • Prepare annually, quarterly and monthly plans for effective execution of the project activities as stipulated in the project documents
  • Guide, supervised and lead in coordinated way while supporting the project team as a facilitator.
  • Travel frequently to project areas and mobilize field staffs and related stakeholders and beneficiaries' communities as the project activities to fulfill the objectives of the project
