System Operator/ Workshop Supervisor

Eco-Soap Bank is a global humanitarian and environmental non-profit organization working to employ women to recycle leftover soap from manufacturers for the developing world and redistribute it to NGO partners to support their WASH programs. We support local NGO-led operations in communities across the globe, including Nepal. Since 2017, Eco-Soap Bank has worked with the local Nepali NGO, Nyeshang Manang Women’s Society (NMWS), which is based in Kathmandu. 

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION / REQUIREMENTS:

Eco-Soap Bank is seeking a qualified individual to lead its system operation in Nepal Hub. The Hub shall be upgraded to include installation of the Greenflash DCX-500 Soap Machine.  The machine is a stainless steel, heated and electrically powered soap extruder.  

Job Title: System Operator / Workshop Supervisor

Key Responsibilities: 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

1. Operate electrically powered machinery with multiple moving parts applying safety measures

2. Use the  small hand tools and simple mechanical adjustments whenever needed

3. Able  to quickly identify visible conditions not consistent with quality bar production

4. General ability to communicate in English

5. Demonstrate a safety conscience approach to daily tasks

6. Keep the record of daily production and report to the Line Manager

7. Keep the record of sales, stock in and stock out.

8. Supervise the workers, assign the tasks to them, monitor the work performance and build the capacity of them as and when necessary

9. Lead the system operation and workshop for quality production

10. Other essential tasks assigned by the Line Manager

Competencies: 

The person with prior experience in similar machine operating areas as below is preferred but not necessary-

1. Textile  Production

2. Parts Assembly

3. Agricultural Processing

4. Electrical Repair

Requirements:

1. Diploma in electrical engineering or 10+2 and technical training related to machine operation. 

2. Minimum 2 years of full-time experience in electrical machine operation.

3. Literate in computer office package.

Salary and Benefit:

Salary: 25 - 30k commensurate with experience

Working hours - 9-5 , Monday to Friday
