International Alert is an independent peace building organisation working in more than 25 countries and territories. We work with people who are directly affected by violent conflict to improve their prospects of peace. International Alert has been working in Nepal since 2002 with the aim of supporting national and international actors to build the long-term conditions for, as well as addressing short-term blockages to, sustainable peace in Nepal

VSO, as a lead Consortium and International Alert, in consortium with national and local partners, is implementing a 2-year project titled SAHAJ: Strengthening Access to Holistic, Gender Responsive, and Accountable Justice in Nepal. It aims to tackle the root causes of GBV and improve the capacity of the security and justice system to provide protection and services to the most at-risk women and girls in Nepal. The project is funded by UKAID, as part of their Integrated Program for Strengthening Security and Justice (IP-SSJ).

International Alert, Country Office, Nepal is looking for a qualified and experienced candidate to fulfil the position of Senior Project Officer (Security and Justice) based in Kapilvastu with a regular visit to project districts including Dang, Banke, Pyuthan and Rolpa. The Officer will be responsible to lead and implement the activities of grassroot-based social accountability approach that focus on transforming harmful social norms for addressing Gender based violence, and strengthen access to responsive and inclusive justice and security, especially for women and girls. He or She will play role in promoting of key learnings for the improvement of the project and for wider leaning of the organisation.
