Job Description for Senior Program Manager

Role Description

This is a full-time Senior Program Manager role at CREASION. As a Senior Program Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of various development projects. This includes planning, coordinating, and executing program activities, managing budgets, monitoring project progress, and ensuring the successful implementation of initiatives. While the role is primarily located in Kathmandu, extensive travel will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the program team, aligning activities with organizational goals and objectives.
  2. Project Planning and Management: Develop comprehensive project plans, budgets, and timelines in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. Coordinate project activities, resources, and deliverables to ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
  3. Monitoring and Evaluation: Establish robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to track project progress, assess impact, and identify areas for improvement. Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with donors, government agencies, partner organizations, and community stakeholders. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to leverage resources, build partnerships, and enhance project effectiveness.
  5. Capacity Building: Mentor and support project staff, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  6. Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and regulatory standards. Implement quality assurance measures to uphold program integrity and accountability.
  7. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges that may impact project outcomes. Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address challenges and minimize disruptions.
  8. Reporting and Communication: Prepare and disseminate regular progress reports, impact assessments, and donor updates. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to share project achievements, lessons learned, and best practices.
  9. Field Operations: Travel extensively to project sites across Nepal to provide oversight, support field teams, engage with communities, and assess project implementation.
  10. Innovation and Learning: Promote a culture of innovation, learning, and adaptive management within the program team. Encourage experimentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement to drive innovation and enhance program effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of relevant field experience in managing development projects, preferably in the community and environmental sectors.
  • Experience in program management, project management, and coordination
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse team
  • Experience in the non-profit sector or international development
  • Knowledge of research methodologies and data analysis
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial reporting
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field
