Lutheran World Relief in concert with Corus International seeks to recruit Security Guard (s) for the anticipated USDA funded Food for Progress project designed to address food security through improvements in the aquaculture value chain.  The position will be based at the project office in Simara, Bara District Nepal.

SECURITY GUARD(S)

Reporting to the Finance & Administration Officer, the Security Guard(s) role will provide security services to the office in Simara, Bara District Nepal, controls visitors, vehicles and maintains the logbook with the visitors and vehicle information.  

S/he will provide overall security services considering safety and security protocols and will be responsible for maintaining the security of the Project Office.  The position will be based in Simara, Bara District Nepal. 

Roles and Responsibilities

• Secure Premises and Personnel by patrolling, monitoring, inspecting building, equipment, access points at all the time
• Be alert attentive during shift, checking or identifying the visitors to permit the entry
• Guard the front door of the office and control vehicle and visitor movement
• Maintain logbook and record the details of vehicle and visitors for surveillance
• Remain alert and inform supervisor of any suspicious activity near office compound
• Carry surveillance movement around the building 
• Follow security protocols in case of increased security threat
• Inform supervisor and Police in case any suspicious objects are found in the office compound
• In case of natural disaster guide office staff to the assembly area and if in off hour report the supervisor of the incidence
• Reception duties from time to time - Answer the incoming calls in absence of staff  
• Ensure Security of vehicles when parked outside office compound

Education & Experience

The candidate must have at least SLC level of education. S/he should have taken security training from accredited institutions or should have experience of working in Police, Army or other institutions as security guard.  At least two (2) years relevant working experience. Experience working in NGO setting will be an added advantage. The candidate should not have and criminal records in the past.   

The candidate should have good communication skill, proficiency in Nepali language and basic understanding of English is required.
