POURAKHI Nepal is a Non-Governmental, not for profit making social organization. We work with Nepalese women migrant workers (WMWs) and their families to sensitize them of their rights to take informed choices in the entire cycle of migrants and their families. This position is focused for ensure Nepal Project.

Enhanced Network for Safety and Occupational Health Utilization and Risk Evaluation (hereinafter 'ENSURE Nepal") is LIN's four (4) year project funded by a cooperative agreement with the United States Department of State (hereinafter the “state Department) to assess the socioeconomic and health exposures that prompt migration, and individual's choice of using either formal or informal channels, and the socioeconomic and health impacts related to working abroad. 

ENSURE Nepal is possible due to the strong partnership among LIN, Nepal Development Society, Johns Hopkins University and Bournemouth University, as well as other researchers around the world. POURAKHI Nepal is one of the partner organization majorly responsible for coordination with Government of Nepal and Recruitment Agencies. 

Position: Research Assistant (1)

Qualification: Bachelor degree in Social science, Migration and related field 

Work location: Kathmandu, with frequent visits to project sites

Duration: 11 Months (August 2026 to June 2027)

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Knowledge of current community challenges and opportunities relating to the objectives of the program.
  • At least one year research experience as enumerator or another research role (migration, anti-human trafficking) 
  • Good team work is essential in order to motivate different groups of people to fulfill their responsibilities within a given time frame. 
  • Good time management, multitasking skills to be able to ensure that tasks get completed on time. 
  • Proficiency in the use of computer-MS office, Internet

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • The Research Assistants will have a dual role: their primary responsibility will be supporting research activities, while also providing assistance to the broader project team as needed
  • Frequent visit to recruitment agencies offices, consultations with staffs and migrant workers for quantitative and qualitative data collection, formatting and produce brief report
  • The selected Research Assistant will actively participate in Training from 27-29, July 2026.
