Establishment of AI based Incubation Center

Social Development Forum (SDF Banke) is a non-governmental organization that has been working for the past three decades to improve the social and economic conditions of women, children, youth and people with disabilities from dalit, janajati, marginalized and disadvantaged communities through meaningful participation in education, health, environment and livelihood related interventions. 

SDF Banke is implementing UPLIFT project in partnership with Save the Children Nepal inside Nepalgunj sub metropolitan city, Banke district whereas SAC Nepal would implement the same project at Birendranagar Municipality, Surkhet. 

As part of the UPLIFT project, SDF Banke intends to establish AI-based incubation centers to provide accessible and demand-driven business incubation and mentoring support for entrepreneurs. The intervention will include several key processes. First, a guideline including decent work principles for the operation and management of the incubation centers will be developed, which will support cloud hosting and technical infrastructure. Second, a design study will be conducted through consultation with entrepreneurs to identify the types of incubation, mentoring, and business support services they require. Based on the findings, structured responses, guidance materials, and service modules will be developed to address the identified needs of entrepreneurs. The project will also prepare IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials to raise awareness among potential service seekers about available incubation services. Finally, entrepreneurs will be connected to the AI-based incubation platform to access mentoring, business information, technical guidance, and other relevant support services for enterprise growth and sustainability Incubation centres will serve as entrepreneurship ecosystem hubs rather than standalone service providers, coordinating support from local governments, academic institutions, vocational training providers, financial institutions, insurance providers, private sector actors, business associations, experienced entrepreneurs, NGOs, and civil society organizations. The centres will promote green and innovative enterprises while facilitating mentoring, referrals, financing, market access, business formalization, and access to government support programmes. An ecosystem mapping will be done to guide the design and help establish effective referral pathways and partnerships. To ensure sustainability, incubation services will be institutionalized within existing government systems, policies, and entrepreneurship support structures. The centres will generate evidence and lessons to inform local government planning, entrepreneurship policies, and investment decisions, while linking youth to employment services, representative bodies, and protection mechanisms to strengthen both entrepreneurship and decent work outcomes.
