REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL

"World Vision is a child focused relief, development and advocacy organization that has contributed to transformation in the lives of millions of children around the world in vulnerable situations. We are driven by Christian values to serve children and families regardless of their religion, age, gender, ethnicity, class and caste. We are looking for potential Nepalese candidates to fill out the following position:"

KITAB Project (Knowledge Improvement through Access of Books) is devised to strengthen the education system with an aim to achieve literacy outcomes and help the students in learning literacy skills and developing creative and critical thinking skill. The project builds upon the government's existing initiative to improve literacy outcomes through NEGRP (National Early Grade Reading Program). It serves Nepali children, especially from grades 1 to 3 by developing students’ performance in reading fluency and comprehension with a larger aim to transform the book market of implementing districts in Nepal through a technology enabled market solution, also creating a digital market place for books, where feasible through an online platform, named KITAB Bazar.

KITAB BAZAR is an online digital platform that enables results-based financing as a solution to improve access to supplementary reading materials in schools. The platform eases the overall process of selecting, ordering, and purchasing books for children in coordination with municipalities and publishing houses. The platform also provides information on how book corners can be established and the benefits they bring that contributes to the development of children.

Thus, in this regard, WVI Nepal intends to handover the KITAB Bazar platform to a private sector entity, rebuild it from its foundation with a strong emphasis on its long-term sustainability while incorporating all the technical requirements envisioned by the team.
