Lutheran World Relief (LWR) invites proposals from qualified individual consultant or firm to address one of the most binding constraints in Nepal’s aquaculture sector-Tilapia hatchery renovation for high quality all male seed system. Building on recent expert assessments and under the Project framework, the assignment will support to renovate Tilapia hatchery, science-based interventions to improve broodstock management, all male seed quality assurance system and hatchery performance. 

The consultancy will contribute to strengthening institutional capacity on Tilapia all male quality seed production, and reduced reliance on tilapia seed production. 

The consultant needs to serve Tarhara Tilapia hatchery, except for special requests from concerned national/international consultants.  The prospective timeline for the selected consultant is to start in September 2026 and submit the deliverables by October 30, 2026, for a total of 30 days of effort. All terms will be agreed upon in the consultant contract.

Level of Effort: Initial contract of 30 days’ level of effort (LOE) with the possibility to extend

Duty Station: Tarhara, Sunsari, NARC Station, Fisheries Research Unit

Location: Lalitpur, Nepal (remote and field work)

Reporting to: National Aquaculture Genetics and Hatchery Specialist (Tilapia)
