Burns Violence Survivors-Nepal (BVS-Nepal) was set up in 2009 subsequent to the passing of The Domestic Violence and Punishment Act 2009, and to meet the growing demand for the proper treatment of burn victims. The Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare of Nepal also decided to set up service centres in 15 districts of the country. The centres would be established in such places where the number of incidents of domestic violence against women is high and the government’s presence is poor. The centres will provide victims with security, treatment, and rehabilitation, as well as such services as legal aid and psychological counselling. Vision: The vision of BVS-Nepal is the elimination of burns violence in Nepal while supporting and rehabilitating survivors to lead healthy and rewarding lives. Mission: The mission of BVS-Nepal is to support and help survivors of burns violence and to help prevent the occurrence of burns violence through a network of partnerships. Strategy: BVS-Nepal is dedicated to rehabilitating survivors of burns violence with an integrated/ holistic approach, while working to prevent the occurrence of burns violence in Nepal.

We are pleased to announce a vacancy for the position of Field Officer, Butwal based, who will play a key role in supporting burn survivors. We are looking for a motivated and dedicated individual to contribute to their recovery and wellbeing.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide necessary support to burn survivors during their treatment through regular hospital visits.
- Establish strong coordination and collaboration with hospitals, government bodies, CSOs, local authorities, service providers, and other partners to ensure effective service delivery.
- Build good relationships with survivors, their families, and community members.
- Prepare reports of the activities, maintain accurate and detailed records and data of all supported burn survivors.
- Conduct regular follow-ups to assess survivors’ status and needs, and plan necessary support in close coordination with supervisors.
- Support sustainable livelihood and income-generating activities to promote survivors’ overall well-being and reintegration.
- Plan and carry out field visits to provide necessary support to survivors and their families.
- Mobilize youth networks, organize community-based awareness events and play a key role in advocacy of burn issue.
- Facilitate the formation of burn survivors’ networks and help them as necessary.
- Map and strengthen coordination with relevant service providers and stakeholders to improve referral systems and access to services.
- Organize and facilitate meetings, events, and training at the local level.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, documentation, and project proposals as needed.
- Perform other duties as required by the organization.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- At least two years of working experience in the similar field.
- Sound understanding of Nepal’s government structure and administrative processes, including on development sector.
- Proven working experience with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies civil society organizations and service providers.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and facilitation skills.
- Strong data management, documentation, and reporting abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace tools, and basic design platforms (e.g., Canva).
- Strong command of written and spoken English and Nepali.
- Empathetic, dedicated, and team-oriented with a strong learning attitude.
- Willingness to travel frequently for field visits and program activities.
Preference will be given to local candidates with fluency in both Nepali and local languages, and good English report-writing ability.
