Proposal Development Consultant

CBM is an international development organisation, committed to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities in the poorest communities of the world irrespective of race, gender or religious belief. CBM has been working in Nepal since 1982. Our work in Nepal spans across 36 districts and based on a programmatic approach to ensure rehabilitation and inclusive development of persons with disabilities. Based on its core values and over 100 years of professional expertise, CBM addresses poverty both as a cause and as a consequence of disability, and works in partnership with local and national civil society organisations to create an inclusive society for all.

1. Core Purpose of the position:

The consultant will take lead for proposal development, in close coordination with CBM NCO Nepal Programme Manager  and respective thematic program officers to write quality proposals and project concepts to institutional and public funders in a timely and organised frame. The proposal will be able to reflect understanding, need and situation of audience and communities, government plan and policies, ensuring cost-effectiviness of support and values & practices  aligned with CBM’s vision.

2. Key Responsibilities and deliverables

Research and analyse global trends and landscape to advance understanding of CBM’s program; Liaise with national programs staffs including partners; Prepare proposals and grant applications; Understand and use proposal databases; Lead in organising meetings and workshops.          

3. Basic Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; Preferably a Master’s degree.
  • At least 4 years work experiences in fundraising, proposal development and project management.
  • Experience working as a consultant, meeting deliverable timelines, billing and closing contracts accordingly.

4. Terms & Conditions

The Consultancy agreement will be for a period of one year, effective upon signatures from both parties. First one month of observation period. This position will be reporting to the Country Director and will be working Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The consultant should demonstrate experience writing, institutional and private grants, concept notes, white papers, research papers and other content to support a focused mission.

5. Consultancy Fees and Benefits

Interested applicants should propose their daily rate inclusive of applicable taxes and is responsible for the arrangements of his/her social security provisions. CBM Nepal will provide accidental insurance of NPR 700,000 sum insured.

The proposal should demonstrate sound knowledge, technical skills and capability as required by the nature of the work of the assignment and understanding of the requisite tasks set forth in the terms of reference.

Eligible persons should submit their updated CV, covering letter and a financial proposal.

At least two positive references/recommendations from past employers must be submitted.

Enclose a copy of citizenship certificate and PAN certificate.
