NEEDS Nepal established in 1999, is a non-for-profit, Non-Government Organization, registered with the Government of Nepal. NEEDS Nepal has been implementing various programs related to empowerment, socio-economic development and social transformation particularly for Children, Women, Dalit and Indigenous people of the entire Far Western Region who are marginalized and vulnerable to different social issues. The organization is collaborating with various government and non-government agencies on social awareness, good governance, safe migration, livelihood, disaster risk reduction within the prevailing policies and the programs of the Government of Nepal.

NEEDS will be implementing Strengthening Community Preparedness, Rapid Response and Recovery Project (SCOP-R3) from 1st December 2020 for 3 years with the support from Oxfam. The project will focus on disaster risk reduction and resilience. The project aims at building capacity of communities and protecting personal and community assets for better community preparedness, response and recovery in Kanchanpur and Dadeldhura districts.

We are looking for potential Nepalese candidates to fill out the following position:

Project Coordinator-1(Based in Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur): 

The position will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, coordinating and reporting of the project. The person will also require conducting field visit in the specific areas of the project to work with communities, partners, local and provincial government structures for the implementation of the project. Besides project management, the incumbent will also provide technical support and ensure that programs apply best practices, maximize synergies and apply a harmonized approach towards disaster risk reduction and resilience.

Applicants have excellent spoken and written skills in English with hands on programme management experience and technical knowledge with at least 5 years’ experience in disaster management and climate change. Applicant should have at least master degree in disaster risk reduction, agriculture, social sciences and development studies.  

Program Officer-2:(Based in Kanchanpur and Dadeldhura):

The position will be responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating and reporting of the project. The person will also require conducting field activities in the specific areas of the project to work with communities, partners, local government structures for the implementation of the project.

Applicants have excellent spoken and written skills in English with hands on program field implementation experience and technical knowledge with at least 3 years’ experience in disaster management and climate change, social works. Applicant should have at least bachelor's degree in disaster risk reduction, climate change, social sciences, and rural development studies.
