Vacancy Announcement: Project Coordinator (Birth Registration)

Nepal Peacebuilding Initiative (NPI) is a non-profit organization devoted to creating evidence-based policy and actionable impact on peacebuilding and development issues within Nepal. NPI works with government agencies, civil society organizations and community members to enhance local input on security and development interventions and strengthen the capacity of societies to build durable peace.

NPI invites applications from qualified individuals for the position of Project Coordinator (Birth Registration)

Location: Lalitpur-based with frequent travels to Madhesh Province

Starting Date: 1st April 2024

Duration of Contract: 9 months, with the possibility of extension.

Salary: A competitive NGO salary will be offered

Responsibilities: Help guide the birth registration program, advocacy, strategies, design and implementation plans in the targeted districts of the Madhesh Province. Prepare and assess evaluation reports to identify gaps, strengths and/or weaknesses in birth registration process; conduct social mobilization drives at the community level; coordinate with relevant stakeholders including local governments to improve birth registration coverage; develop and implement training/workshop/consultation meetings on issues related to birth registration.

Qualification: You should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Development Studies, Community Development, Public Health, Education and/or related social science discipline. You have a minimum of 3 years professional experience and you are able to work with a range of partners, including community members, human rights defenders and authorities at different levels.
