Job title: Project Coordinator

Nepal Public Awakening Forum (N-PAF) is a non-government organization based in Rukum West and working in both Rukum East and west districts since 2006. Currently, N-PAF Nepal is implementing an integrated project entitled "Advancing for Community Transformation Project (Pro-ACT)" in Bhume and Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipalities of Rukum East district since January 2021 to December 2025 with funding support of United Mission to Nepal (UMN), Rukum East Cluster. The Project is particularly focused on community health, mental health, livelihoods, protection, and good governance themes. So, for the successful implementation of the projects, N-PAF is recruiting the following staff. 

The objective of the job is to ensure the successful implementation of Advancing for Community Transformation Project (Pro-ACT) through effective capacity building, building relationships, project management, and providing technical support. This position requires to be innovative and problem-solving skills to adapt to changes and multiple priorities. 

Reports to: NPAF Board Chair/designee and UMN Project Manager, Cluster Office

Job Location: N-PAF Field Office, Bhume RM, Khabang, Rukum East

Major responsibilities: 

  1. Project planning and management (Project LFA, risk management, problem-solving, team and financial management)-40%
  2. Project quality, technical management (Technical support, quality assurance, integration, M & E and documentation)-20%
  3. Community empowerment and stakeholder engagement for project sustainability, coordination, and leadership-15%
  4. PMP, compliance management, Track project progress and performance using appropriate tools and technique-15%
  5. Strong partnership management, and team mobilization-10%

Major duties and responsibilities: 

  • Develop a good understanding of the integration of various thematic areas for effective integrated programming. Technical capacity building of project staff understanding of these integrated programming systems and outcomes of Pro-ACT project
  • Build strong relationships with key local project line agencies/stakeholders in the district and working Rural Municipalities (including  Health Office, and Health Facilities), and coordinate and cooperate  for successful project implementation
  • Ensure the quality of field work through regular monitoring , conduct regular meetings with the stakeholders and partner project team, and provide timely technical assistance to execute the planned activitiesEnsure  community mobilization by engaging the target beneficiaries especially Person with Mental Illness,  Poor People Living in Poverty, PwD  in bottom-up project design and implementation 
  • Provide technical support and guidance for the effective mobilization of field-based project staff 
  • Ensure programmatic and financial compliances and requirements of both UMN and N-PAF 
  • Develop the monitoring plan of the project and ensure the integration of feedback and issues to make more effective implementation of the project activities
  • Manage project staff with proper planning, review, coaching, and effective mobilization 
  • Monitor resource utilization and ensure the quality use of budget
  • Conduct regular evaluation to assess the effectiveness and impact of project activities
  • Produce high-quality project reports, updates, success stories, and photos in technical support of UMN
  • Mainstreaming of Cross-Cutting issues i.e. Climate Change, Conflict Sensitivity, GESI and Disability in projects activities
  • Ensure proper utilization of budget as per the financial guideline by applying Value For Money
  • Proactive communication and collaboration with funding partners and relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure the project activities meet the standard and guidelines
  • Maintain the comprehensive documentation including plans, reports, and finance

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Psychology, or relevant academic degree with a minimum of three years of working experience (Master’s preferred)
  • Priorly working experience in integrated projects particularly focusing on Mental Health, Health System Strengthening, Livelihood, Protection and Good governance themes 
  • Experience in project management including proper planning, implementation, quality assurance, monitoring, and reporting 
  • Good knowledge and skill on sub-national health care delivery systems
  • Good coordination, collaboration and networking skills 
  • Human resource management and mobilization skill
  • Knowledge on project financial management 
  • Excellent skills and knowledge on MS office(word, excel and power-point)
  • Excellent facilitation skills to lead training, workshops, and meeting 
  • Comprehensive understanding of GESI, Climate Change, Conflict Sensitivity, Disability and Good Governance
  • Willingness to travel extensively in the project locations and ability to work under high pressure
  • Excellent command of spoken and written of English and Nepali
