Unification Nepal Gorkha (UN-Nepal), registered in the District Administration Office (DAO) Gorkha and Social Welfare Council (SWC) in the year 2009, is a non-profit making child-focused organization formed by a team of youth NGO professionals for sustainable development across the country. It is autonomous and politically non partisan organization which is governed by its constitution, financial and administrative policy and code of conduct and other various policies. The organization is implementing various projects with multiple donors and INGOs at Gorkha district and few projects are under pipeline.

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Unification Nepal Gorkha (UN-Nepal), registered in the District Administration Office (DAO) Gorkha and Social Welfare Council (SWC) in the year 2009, is a non-profit making child-focused organization formed by a team of youth NGO professionals for sustainable development across the country.

UN-Nepal has been implementing the “Improving Learning Environment in Gorkha district” project in Dharche Rural Municipality, Gorkha in partnership with ChildFund Japan, which is supported by the Government of Japan. The primary goal of the project is to improve the learning environment for children from disadvantaged communities in Gorkha by rebuilding schools, providing training to teachers and School Management Committee (SMC) members, Parents Teachers Association (PTA), raising awareness among local community and strengthening linkage with the local government. For this, UN Nepal is seeking a qualified and dynamic Field Project Officer. The summary of ToR is given below.

Duty Station: Unification Nepal, Gorkha Municipality 11, Sorakilo, Gorkha 

Duration of contract: Up to March 2025 with 3-month probation period 

Position: Project Coordinator 

This position will be responsible for implementing Project activities successfully and efficiently. Duties of this position are to plan and carry out training activities to build capacity, organize community-wide education-related awareness raising activities ensuring that the project produces the results. The PC will support and monitor the construction of the school building site in addition to coordinating and working with the local government to ensure that the project runs smoothly.

Required Qualification and Responsibility 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Science, Rural development, Environment science or a related discipline. Preference will be given to master's degree holder. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in community mobilization on development project and in the field of child education, infrastructure support, child protection, or development.
  • Strong knowledge of Nepal’s education system and policies. 
  • Excellent communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent understanding of donor requirements and principles of transparency and accountability.
  • Strong time management and planning skills.
  • Good facilitation skills and strong liaison with local government as well as communities. 
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation of projects. 
  • Proficient writing and speaking skills in both Nepali and English. 
  • Strong report writing and documentation ability in English and Nepali.
  • Good Knowledge on accountability in procurement and procurement process.
  • Excellent working knowledge on Microsoft Office (Nepali, English typing, email, and internet).
