Plan International Nepal and its partner organization Social Awareness and Development SAADA-NEPAL Child Protection Program has been conducting programs in Raskot Municipality, Shanni Triveni Rural   Municipality and Narharinath rural  Municipality of Kalikot district in various policies and strategies for the best interests of children.

1. Position Title: Program Coordinator 

Position Duration: 1 Year (Possibility of extension depending upon performance)

Duty Station: Manma, Kalikot District

Job Summary:

Social Awareness and Development Academy (SAADA-Nepal), Kalikot invites applications from interested and eligible candidates for the following position for the successful implementation of this project. The position holder will guide and provide technical expertise on the management of child sponsorships communication and child protection programming and implementation. S/He will be responsible for designing and developing of quality programs including proposal development, policy analysis, and engagement with program implementation. S/He will guide and provide technical advice and capacity support to field teams in child protection and safeguarding children and young people programming and policy implementation. S/He will monitor the child sponsorships, child protection & safeguarding program as per project requirements and monitoring and evaluation framework. S/He will ensure strong coordination between SAADA Nepal, Plan International Nepal, and other NGO partners of Plan International Nepal, Rural/Municipalities, District Coordination Committee, and district/municipality level stakeholders for effective implementation of Child Protection programs She/he will facilitate to streamline monitoring system, document and share best practices on child protection, safeguarding and maintained linkage, Coordination and reporting at the program level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in the development of annual operational plans and the regular internal program planning and review meetings for effective delivery of Child Sponsorship, Child Protection, and Safeguarding themes
  • Provide technical support to schools, municipalities, and wards to establish/promote child protection mechanisms. 
  • Capacitate municipality officials on their mandate on Child Protection and advocate for allocating resources in annual and strategic plans of municipalities to address the issues of children, especially girls, CWD and Dalits. 
  • Coordinate with thematic heads of Child Sponsorship and Child Protection program of Plan International Nepal for effective management of child sponsorship communication and CP-related programs.  
  • Support team members in carrying out project plan activities  and child sponsorship, Child Protection Policy risk assessment, and developing mitigation measures in programs
  • Provide technical input on all aspects of child sponsorship, child protection and safeguarding to staff, key government officials/local level authorities on policies, strategies, good practices, lessons learned and approaches on child protection and safeguarding issues to support program development, planning, implementation and delivery of results
  • Coordinate and work with program team at district, municipality, and field level to identify and prioritize major issues on child sponsorship, Child protection, and safeguarding considering its interrelationship. Prepare an appropriate influencing plan and its implementation plan.
  • Keep the program information up to date and ensure meeting programmatic and financial compliance. Maintain professional conduct, while intervening in the program activities.
  • Regularly review the progress with the program team; Program timeline/deadline, deliverables, planned Program activities, and ensure the quality of Program activities.
  • Provide necessary technical support required to the organization's management team. 
  • Ensure accountability towards government authorities by sharing target, budget, progress as well as delivery approaches.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and completion reports and submit timely to Plan International. 
  • Ensure an efficient and effective financial management system is in place.
  • Ensure financial compliances are met as per the standard set commonly with funding agencies respecting financial policies, guidelines, and periodic circulation.
  • Conduct regular field visits with appropriate tools and checklists, including interaction/consultation with beneficiaries to learn about program effectiveness in line with child protection and safeguarding.

Required Qualification, Experience, and other requirements:

  • Minimum Master's Degree, preferably in Law, Human and Child Rights, Education, Social Since or any other relevant development studies,
  • At least three years' work experience in designing/managing projects on child sponsorship (SP) and child protection (CP), especially elimination of harmful traditional practices such as child marriage, Chaupadi and CP system strengthening in child rights advocacy, GBV, and other protection issues(child labor, trafficking, etc.) 
  • In-depth knowledge on child sponsorship, child protection, and safeguarding issues along with hands-on experience of mainstreaming those into programs
  • Experience in identifying child protection risks and their mitigation in programming 
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills with the ability to multi-task and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
  • Proven knowledge of latest debates, issues, research, and practice in Child Rights programs and program implementation in a range of contexts – local, national and regional
  • Knowledge on Policies and Program Priorities of Federal and Provincial Governments including Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens, 
  • Able to travel and spend time in the Program District in all community areas.
  • Able to communicate effectively in Local Language.
  • Strong management and people skills.
  • Sensitive to child protection and child safeguarding issues.
  • Good Computer skills.

2. Position Title: Assistant Finance and Admin officer  

Position Duration: 1 Year (Possibility of extension depending upon performance)

Duty Station: Manma, Kalikot District

Job Summary

Assistant Finance and Admin Officer are primarily responsible for financial management, accounting, and administration for the smooth operation of the organization responsibly maintaining transparently accountable and internal control system within the organization as per the policy and compliance. S/he will be maintaining and reporting the financial reports, projecting the annual budget, managing financial data and office documents, assisting the Program Coordinator in the preparation of the annual budget in close coordination with the program team and Plan Nepal. S/he will be responsible for monitoring, auditing, and evaluating the budget effectiveness to the target groups. S/he will work closely with ED, PC, and Program management team to implement financial and administrative planning to an acceptable standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure smooth functioning of finance and administrative operations as per policy and compliance.
  • Ensure all payments are made according to organizational policies, local law, and contractual agreement with Plan International Nepal.  
  • Ensure maintenance of all payment documents and receipts according to the organizational policies and guidelines.  
  • Co-operate and liaise with the other project staff members and the consortium member and maintain close, constructive, and dynamic relations with partners.
  • Responsible for the overall function of Admin and Finance at field & district level.
  • Ensure that compliance with prevailing laws and organizational policy, all payments are processed in a timely manner, and are accounted for properly. 
  • Prepare all payments, receipts, and transfer vouchers within the time period. 
  • Prepare transaction worksheet with appropriate codes and according to relevant cost centers and agreed allocation. Stamp all payment documents as per organizational requirements.
  • Petty cash administration; make payment petty expenses and update petty cash log sheet.
  • Administer the financial information (i.e. vouchers, contracts, agreement). 
  • Organize and file vouchers and their supporting documents, taxes, VAT, etc in a more effective and efficient way.
  • Prepare financial report as prescribed format and submit to management and Plan International Nepal on regular basis.
  • Prepare monthly/periodic budget versus actual report and submit to program team for reason for the variance.
  • Maintain integrity and accountability of the position.
  • Maintain and strengthen the standard of work and credibility of the organization in and outside of the office.
  • Ensure that the procurement process has fully followed the child protection and safeguarding policies while selecting the vendors.
  • Ensure that while making the contract the service providers have signed and committed to follow the child protection and safeguarding policy.

Required Qualification, Experience, and other requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce of Business studies or relevant academic qualification with at least one year's relevant experience.
  • Good knowledge of accounting and office management. 
  • Excellent computer skills, especially in MS Word, Excel / Excel reporting. 
  • Good knowledge of accounting software. 
  • Ability to work at pace across multiple workstreams. 
  • Strong management and people skills. 
  • Demonstration of excellent team working and relationship building skills.
