Program Assistant (NLRP-II Project)

Duty Station: Province Office, Koholpur / Baijanath Rural Municipality, Banke

Reporting To: Province Manager

Field Requirement: Minimum 70% of working time dedicated to direct community engagement

 Program Overview:

NLRP-II aims to enhance the social well-being and resilience of vulnerable farming households and communities through five interconnected pillars. It promotes food security and climate resilience by encouraging climate-smart and sustainable agriculture practices. The program also strengthens livelihoods through skill development, enterprise support, and market linkages, while improving cooperative systems with better governance, transparency, and capacity building.

In addition, NLRP-II emphasizes social protection and inclusion by ensuring access to safety nets and promoting gender equality, disability inclusion, and social justice. It also focuses on the realization of child rights by creating safe, child-friendly environments and improving access to education, health, and protection services. The program adopts participatory, community-led approaches such as “learning by doing” and Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) to empower communities and ensure sustainable impact.

Position Overview:

The Program Assistant leads the field-level implementation of the NLRP-II project in Banke, spending at least 70% of their time directly engaging with target communities. The role focuses on strengthening local cooperatives, promoting sustainable agriculture and enterprise, and supporting child-focused development initiatives. Additionally, the assistant coordinates with local authorities, conducts field monitoring, and manages.

 Minimum Eligibility & Qualifications

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Rural Development, Social Work, Development Studies, Cooperative Management, Business Development, Community Development, or other relevant disciplines from a recognized university.
  • 2–3 years of experience in NGO/INGO project implementation focusing on cooperative strengthening, enterprise development, or child-focused interventions.
  • Proven experience in community mobilization, cooperative strengthening, enterprise development, and livelihoods promotion interventions.
  • Experience working with farmer groups, cooperatives, community institutions, local governments, and vulnerable communities, child-focused programs, or community-based child development interventions
  • Experience in project implementation, activity planning, field monitoring, documentation, and reporting.
