Deaf Association of Kailali (DAOK) is a non-profit, non-governmental humanitarian organization registered with the District Administration Office, Kailali (Reg. No. 1736/069) and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council, Kathmandu. Established through the leadership and initiative of deaf youth in 2012, DAOK works to promote social justice by strengthening persons with hearing and other disabled people and ensuring their educational, economic and social rights through a rights-based approach focused on empowerment, capacity building and advocacy.

Deaf Association of Kailali (DAOK), in partnership with National Federation of Deaf Nepal (NDFN) and with support from the Atlas Alliance, is now implementing a 4-year (2026-2029) program dubbed “Collective Action for Disability Rights (CADiR)”.  The CADIR Program aims to improve the ability of persons with disabilities and their families in 2 municipalities (Dhangadhi and Godawari) of Kailali district to achieve inclusion in all areas of society through greater participation in decision making processes and greater access to services across different sectors.  The main focus of the Program is health and rehabilitation and human rights advocacy for/with people with deaf blind, psychosocial and persons with multiple disabilities. We are looking for a self-driven, dynamic and result-oriented candidate for our vacant position for the following positions:

Tenure: 1 years with possible extension based on performance

Job Location: Kailali district (Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City and Godawari Municipality) with frequent home visits and community-based rehabilitation services

Job Specification

Education Level:

  • Diploma in Physiotherapy 
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience 

Experience Required: More than or equals to 1 year

Other Specification

1. Service Planning & Delivery

  • Provide physiotherapy services in home-based and resource class settings 
  • Develop individualized physiotherapy plans aligned with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) 
  • Support early intervention and rehabilitation needs of children 

2. Technical Support & Capacity Building

  • Train home-based educators, resource teachers, and caregivers on basic physiotherapy techniques 
  • Develop simple manuals/guidelines for home-based physiotherapy support 
  • Provide ongoing technical guidance and supervision 

3. Coordination & Collaboration

  • Work closely with project teams, educators, and senior physiotherapist 
  • Coordinate with service providers for treatment and assistive devices 
  • Support integration of physiotherapy into education and care plans 

4. Monitoring & Documentation

  • Maintain records of physiotherapy sessions and progress 
  • Monitor quality of services provided by educators and caregivers 
  • Prepare regular reports and update documentation tools 

5. Rehabilitation & Livelihood Support

  • Identify opportunities for vocational and rehabilitation support 
  • Link families with relevant services and institutions 

Skills and competencies

  • Knowledge of disability, rehabilitation, and community-based approaches 
  • Strong training and facilitation skills 
  • Counseling skills for working with families 
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office) 
  • Good communication skills in Nepali and English 
  • Ability to work in a team and under pressure 

Desirable:

  • Two-wheeler driving license
