Panchtara Yuwa Samrakshak Manch (PTYSM) Jajarkot is an NGO dedicated to upholding the rights of marginalized and excluded communities through its interventions in Disaster, empowerment, equality and social justice and agriculture, education, health, nutrition, and livestock services are working in the area of widespread municipals of the district, women, children, Dalit, Janajati and vulnerable communities. It works with a vision of a just and prosperous society with people having access to and ownership over resources and communities.

PTYSM is going to implement the SAHAYATRA II and ABSAR Projects in partnership with Save the Children International to improve student’s basic education, improve the implementation of UNCRC by government and Civil Society, to create a safe and protective environment for children in school, health facilities and other community settings in Chhedagad municipality of Jajarkot District. Thus, PTYSM invites an application from suitable Nepali candidates for the following full-time positions:

1. Pedagogical Resource Person (Education Resource person) - 1 (Based in Chhedagad Municipality)

PURPOSE: 

The Pedagogical Resource Person-PRP is responsible for providing coaching/mentoring support to early grade teachers including ECCD. The PRP will do onsite coaching, and mentoring support by observing the class.  i.e. PRP will be capable to conduct a meeting, mobilize staff, skills of developing teaching-learning materials to make effective teaching and learning workshops, Integrated curriculum training and management of coach/mentor on co-funding basic with the municipality, provision of innovation to school, performance-based awards to teachers and schools, etc. of Sahayatra II project, in close coordination and collaboration with PTYSM Project coordinator-Education, program director and as well as SCI project coordinator-education. 

Key Responsibility: 

  • Overall responsible to lead the teaching learning-related planning, implementing, monitoring, documentation, and reporting in coordination with the project coordination and education section of the Municipality.
  • While developing the monthly action plan, especially in classes ECCD to Grade 3, at least 8 to 10 schools should be visited in a month to support the teachers in teaching and learning. 
  • Facilitate and ensure schools conduct different types of assessments (CB-EGRA, NARN, CAS, Learning achievement) based on Integrated Curriculum. 
  • PRP should be able to write and publish case stories, news stories based on program achievements, good practices problems, etc.
  • He/She will be capable to handle digital platforms in the teaching-learning process.
  • Facilitate and support teachers and parents for the continuation of children's learning during the COVID pandemic and in the normal situation through homeschooling, school at home, tole education, etc.
  • Facilitate and provide support to the teachers on remedial support to the children, Grade teaching, Multi-grade teaching, teaching without punishment, Classroom management, and use of curriculum and teacher's guide in the classroom. 
  • Other works related to the municipality and the Sahyatra project team will have to be done as per requirement.

Preferred Qualification and Experience: 

  • At least a bachelor's degree in education, a master's degree in education is preferred.
  • Training facilitation skills, as well as coaching and mentoring skills, are essential.
  • At least 3 years of teaching or teacher training facilitation, teaching-learning material development, or work related to education.
  • Friendly and helpful.

2. Documentation and Reporting Officer- 1 (Based in Chhedagad Municipality)

Key Responsibility: 

  • Under the direct supervision of the Program Director, assumes primary responsibility for planning, developing, and implementing documentation strategies both project and organizational level. 
  • Develop, design, produce and disseminate write up visibility materials and communication products to highest quality and edit messages for promotional materials.
  • Led quality annual, semi-annual report production of the projects and organization, edit any organizational documents, press releases, banners, brochures, multi-media presentations, annual reports, leaflets, storybooks, and other publications within the scope of organizational ethics and standards.
  • Link, and update the organization on social media, and websites updates. 
  • Work with program team members to conceptualize and implement communication/documentation strategies and campaigns based on the organizational target. 
  • Strengthen relationship building/liaising with staff members, partners, and beneficiaries to collect quotes, data and other information, fully responsible for data protection. 
  • Develop and maintain effective relationship and contacts with the government officials, I/NGOs, media houses and journalist and other key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the media by organizing project site visits, facilitating photo coverage and TV footage and utilizing both web-based and traditional media as appropriate and maintaining a media database, records of media coverage. 
  • Compile the project data and analyze, write and distribute reports, including publications, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other promotional material that communicates the organization's activities, and/or services. 
  • Take personal responsibility for the quality of the case story, success story, and process documentation.  
  • Translate shorter pieces, and proofread translations from Nepali to English and vice versa
  • Coordinating with the Program team on the production of visual elements including video production, photo images, infographics, and graphic design work
  • Supporting Knowledge Management and knowledge sharing within program and admin/finance teams and across the entire organization
  • Completing other responsibilities as requested by the Program Director.

Required Education, Skills, and Experiences

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a similar role.
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, content management systems, and social media platforms.
